well my 01 gts is getting high in milage and im getting ready to go to school.. its been a good car to play around in but it causes soooooo much attention. My toyota/scion dealership offered 10G for my car.. and i think that i am going to get an 05 tc fully loaded.. im excited, but i love my celi.. but with the miles and it getting so much attention, i dont need tickets to pay off while in college.

Hey, if you like the tC, go for it. But for me, I'd never trade my Celi (no matter the miles) for a tC. How many miles does your Celi have, by the way?

i live in a small area... everyone knows everyone.. and my exhaust is LOUD- it sounds great but its just really really loud. and my favorite state trooper bingham, (the one who busted me at a party) loves to give me exhaust tickets and follow me home ect. ect... i am going to school at odu which is a nice school but on one side is the ghetto and its just to flashy, im a girl and im scared somthing muight happen when im driving through there, the tc is nice and not as flashy as the celi and the top speed isnt as high. Which on the interstate at 3 in the morning i tend to top out... plus im gonna get a zxr6 once i get there... so the celi just isnt for me anymore.

60K is nothing on a toyota engine. A new scion will be flashy too because not many people have seen them on the streets yet, especially where you live. Dont sell the celi. And, if you are worried about the noise get a different exhaust before you go to school

60K is nothing. If Bingham only gives you ticket for the loud exhaust then change it with the stock one. Although 10Gs for a new TC seems reasonable but still I won't trade it in. Also, you have a GTS! don't do it if I were you...

Oh and by the way, don't trade in your car. Dealerships usually offer small amount and when they sell it, they put 4G on top of whatever they usually pay for your car. Sell it, then use the money for downpayment.

hahah yea but i think this engine has it in for it... its not running properly and i think its just ragged out, its falling to peices.. my sideskirt fell off on the way home tonight and i want somthing new.. i know i have a gts and i do love my car very very much, but mom wants me to get a new car and she is paying for it... so what can i say. the exhaust (cheapest i could fine) would be around 1800 dollars to fix because of the way its set up now, and as bingham always tells me (this nascar shit doesnt fly with me around here) i am going to miss my celi very much, and i really dont want to sell it, but in the long run.. i think it will do me better- but anyways, what does everyone think of the tc?

i really dont want to sell it, Well, there is your answer. If you don't want to sell it, then don't...you will regret it later on. Like other people said before the TC is just as flashy b/c its not common, it is a very nice car though.

Car is still new in the market. Not much is driving it. Having a scion will sure attract attention but who knonws in the long run when everybody starts having it. Why don't you go with RSX with just a few Gs more... no offense to the toyota loyalist

This bingham sounds like an uptight pecker head who needs to get a life.
I agree with you on the Tc being less flashy than the Celica. The Tc has that generic sporty look where as the Celica has that double take aggressive sporty look.
To the untrained eye the Tc could be easily mistaken for any of half a dozen other import sport compact sedans, and thus more likely not to stand out in a crowd.
My love for the Celica aside; you need to choose the vehicle that is most conducive to your life style and needs.

how much is the TC that you're looking at? 10G is not bad for a 01'. tough choice, but what do you really want???

what's more expensive than paying off tickets while your in college is trying to pay off your car while your in college...so definitely keep your celica...it sounds like the trooper's just being dumb so keep the exhaust and if you start getting tickets, consider switching exhausts...avoid driving through ghetto areas (I do, and i'm a guy, I just like avoiding trouble) and if you absolutely have to make sure your doors are locked and windows up.
EDIT: if you do decide to get a new car, sell it on your own. It's worth at least $14K

if you wanna get rid of ur celica because its flashy, then you making everything worst. not only scion is new, noone really seen it, heard about it, and everyone will be amazed of how it looks and confuse it with a bmw or another german car. ull grab more attention like that cz its also a rarer car. if you worried about the exhaust noise, then change ur exhaust and put a stock in. get ur car back to stock. if you are worried about driving fast, ur gonna drive the tC fast too, that you have control. who said you cant drive a celica slow? go 60mph and put it on 6th and ull roll like a butter. btw 10k is a fair trade in. its not good but i mean trader in usually worst rip off, but you can sell the car by urself for 12 easily if ur car is in good conditiion
