I would NEVER get anything for my car off Ebay, not even an S2K antenna.
The only thing I haven't seen on Ebay is 3 quarters on sale for a buck (Special Low Price!), but probably only cause i haven't looked hard enough...

I bought my TRD Exhaust new in the box off ebay for $215.00
TRD Springs for $65.00 New in the box
Supra style clear corners for $19.99
Fill in decal
etc etc
At least on ebay there is insurance if you get burned. I'd say it's riskier buying from a forum since there is no recourse to getting burned.
On that note, I also bought my TRD bodykit, Injen CAI, groundwire kit, Carbon Fiber Raised hoodscoop & rims from various forums.

there are some people on ebay that can be trusted. make sure you check out the feedback and check out the number of people they have done business with. if it sells that they're a "power seller" most likely that person will not screw you.
