Try brasso. I use it all the time with a terry clothe. Doesn't mess up the polish and makes it look like brand new. If you want a bling bling heat up the pipe with a lighter or put it near a heatfan. While it's warm buff and polish the liquid brasso on the pipe. You see all the blemishes wipe away before your eyes the more and more you buff. Buff with a mild pressure don't scrub as if your scratching. That won't build up the liquid. When the liquid builds up enough the rag turns a dark black like shoe polish. Use another clean terry cloth and do a final buff to get the brasso residue off. I'd buff my polish pieces for like 10-20 minutes at the most. Always turns out lookin'like new.
Mothers metal polish is great stuff too. Takes out some pretty deep scratches.
