I know this was asked, but I cant find it. Someone said to spray silicone spray on the belt if ir does that. Is that true? Is it safe? Will it work? thx

No, not on the belt. Never spray a lubricant not designed for belts on the belt.

Your tensioner probably needs to be replaced.

I would first replace the belt though.

I have good news for you my friend. There is a spray you can buy to fix that squeeking sound. Im not sure the name but i got mine at pep boys. I sprayed my bely while the car was off and it didnt work. Then i sprayed the belt and the pulleys while the car was on and it wokrd perfectly. Just keep spraying the belt and the pulleys until the sound has stopped. hope that helps

i have the same problem still... i spayed the belt stuff and the sound went away but only when im idling.. when i speed up the sound gets louder (squealing) and get quiet when i come to a stop or when im not accelerating..
