JD, my man. GET IT. I think they have this polish to help protect it. I don't think rain will do harm, or sunshine. Only extreme heat conditions. But like I said, there is a polish for it. I do not know what it is called, but I have heard about it. I love that hood and it looks awesome with a bodykit. I think its an excellent mod and you should go for it. Just my opinion though. Look around for that polish/wax.

Dan as always buddy Dan, first to reply , you said extreme heat and yes, when i go to work, my car sits under the sun from 7:30 - 3:30 , it is super hot you cant even use your shift knob (mines billet aluminum), if you said theres a wax to prevent these problems then maybe ill go for it

Basically, the only thing that you should be concerned about getting water into under your hood is your intake/air-filter.
Although the following items are already waterproof, you should check the tightness of the oil filler cap, the power steering filler cap, windshield washer fluid cap, oil dip stick, battery filler caps and all other engine compartment opening caps.
everything else should be fine... there really isnt much under your hood that isnt already water proof.
