If I were to remove the resonator right after the cat does it really do anything or would it be just for sound? I have the DC headers and the apexi n1 exhaust if that would make a difference. Also would this cause any check engine lights to come on because of the reduction of backpressure? Any help about this would be great!!!!!!

The main purpose it will serve if you remove it is just making your exhaust a little bit louder. The Apex'i N1 w/no res. is pretty loud.

i would definately remove it. dont worry about the cat because its already as free flowing as you can get it. it will make the car sound more tuned and free up some restriction. i would also thermo-tech your piping and header. its not a good idea to wrap the muffler/canister or the catalytic converter

The stock resonator is a straight through, perforated design, so removing it would give about 1hp at best.

It won't throw a CEL. Only taking off your cat will do that. It it'll probably be a little louder too.
