hey guys, i have, i think 17x7.5 rims or they might be 17x7, ne ways i currently have 215/45/17 tires all around, but my front tires are bald and my buddy has 235/45/17 tires brand new just laying around that he's selling to me for $80 for the pair. now someone was telling me that 235/45/17 will rub in the front wheel well. is this true. my car isn't dropped yet, but i have tien s-techs laying around that i need to put on. so will i be ok with the 235/45/17 for the front or not. also, at bell tire one of the guys told me that 235/45/17 is actually a taller tire than 215/45/17. he said if i wannna put a 235/??/17 tire on it should be 235/40/17, and that will be the same height as 215/45/17. it didn't make sense to me as both are 45 mm profile and the height should be the same. so i don't know if the bell tire dude was right or what. but could some one resolve this issue for me as i need new tires asap, since my front tires are showing the steel lines in it. thnx

ok so i know that the question asks for alot, so i'll break this down!

First of all could someone tell me if the the 235/45/17 will be fine on my front rims that are, i think 17x7.5. I currently have 215/45/17. So r they going to rub in the wheel well?

How low will you be lowering it? You should be ok. 215 to 235 is not a big difference.

the guy at bell tire is right because the second number is width in relation to diameter if I'm not mistaken. It's not actually a measurement of mm thumbsup

The second number is aspect ratio = sidewall/width
235/45/17 has 4.2 inch sidewall
215/45/17 has 3.8 inch sidewall
235/40/17 has 3.7 inch sidewall
