Get the code read at Autozone, Pep Boys, etc. Without the code, it's impossible to diagnose the problem.

Cel = Check Engine Light...our cars are VERY picky to mods haha and are notorious for being CEL Whores...

i'm not sure about the celi...but with other cars i've experienced if the light comes on...and you put the key in and turn it into the on position...the light blinks a certain number of times, which stands for a certain error. If you could find somewhere that has a list of those diagnostic blinks or whatev maybe you could figure it out.

Or just take it to auto zone. thumbsup

ok your stupid if you just keep reseting it and hope it goes away... i had mine come on and went to napa auto parts and they pulled the code for free. went to the toyota dealership and they did the same then told me the problem and it was 02 sensor. im getting it fixed this week under warranty even with aem intake

That only happens with Hondas where you just push the in the "mileage marker" and the like not new Celicas.
I still can not believe people are getting CELs. I had my stuff installed at a chop shop that doesn't exist anymore. Maybe I'm lucky. O2 sensor, that sounds very familiar. Not for me granted because I don't have an exhaust. I hope they fix it for you. These CEL readings need to stop and they should. There is no reason why these are still going on. It really confuses me.

Most CELs are caused by intakes, even though there are those out there that don't believe it. spineyes It's been going on for years now, due to poor designing by the manufacturers. I'd say 3 out of every 5 intake owners gets a CEL caused by their intake. It's a fairly commom problem.

TPR's CAI was made to solve this with a better design that has been proven over and over again to get rid of intake related CELs and bogging. Too bad the design is patented by TPR, otherwise AEM/Injen/K&N/etc. could add it to their own intakes and the problem would cease to exist. wink

I would like you to examine my early Injen CAI if you are going to help me change out my rotors and pads. I'll let you test drive my Celica again in a straight line with no sudden stops all through the gears and from a stop. I think I have a freak CAI or Celica. I've tried to get a recording of it, but couldn't. You're more than welcome to examine my car as always.

Yeah, your car was the first one I've driven that had an Injen that didn't cause bogging (one of my friend's Injen bogged so bad I stalled it a few times frown ). It's possible that it's the intake (not sure if they're hand- or machine-welded), or it could be you just have a less sensitive MAFS. It'd be interesting to see when I get my car back if your Injen causes bogging. My car bogged like crazy with the eBay AEM CAI till I modded it. Easy_C's car also bogged till he did my mod (he had eBay/AEM and Injen).
