You're not going to do much better there. I bought a clip for the engine plastics at UAP and it was $3.00 or so.

yeah, I figured that it would be about a dollar a pop from the "stealership"...$10 a bag is a decent dealer price, but damn near $30...I told them to keep em

There isn't a way that we can replace those with screws or actual bolts huh?

the toyota service center near here gets the plastic push-pins for $0.46 each... ask for a manager and tell them what you need them for - play the guilt trip on them if they still insist on charging you $3/ea

Once again - Autozone has assorted boxes of 12 for $2.98. They aren't OEM, and they had many sizes, so they let me take a few boxes outside to test the fitting. The ones for Ford work excellent. They have feathered plastic stems and are way tighter than OEM. Removing is slightly more difficult than the OEM, as you are basically prying them upward but these babies aren't going anywhere!!

Hate to bring up old news, but I bought ten and got twelve or something like that. Enough to replace all my engine plastics (look at the recall thread to see). These are the same hard to get off mothers that go on the bottom of the underside plastics. I was originally quoted at .82 for them, then $1.20 each. I obviously don't see the problem. Are people here that poor that they can't afford $14.40, say for the whole month? Is that too much too ask? I don't mind at all and probably won't have to get more ever unless I lose one or two being stupid. I say it's a good investment on my part and I payed less than that.

Hahah I Isaac owns Sick evidence! I got a lot in my tool box scattered. Those things are expensive just like those white retainer clips. Took off all those plastics off wayyyyy back. I think Toyota put those plastics all over the engine not only for protection but to hide engine problems from people who are not mechanically inclined. Example, my friend had an oil leak and didn't find out the oil was leaking slowly till the lower portions of his plastics got full of oil. If you know how to maintain your plugs well more power to ya! cool
