Hi. I am wondering what brands would you reccomend for 2" volt/water temp/oil pres gauges? How hard is it to install these? Please post pics of the gauges if you have em.

Sunpro all the way Inexpensive and time-tested, these guys have been around for a long time & know their stuff. They make 2" gagues for everything.

Autometer is good as well. Accurate, a bit pricier though.

As far as Faze gauges, I don't know, they are the new kids, and they will need to prove themselves.

Pivot and blitz make decent gauges in japan, there are probably many others, but I'm just not familiar with japanese products in this regard.

I currently have an axas shift indicator on order, I'll be converting it to a lift gague/shift light, it will go into a pillar pod under my Air/Fuel gague. I'll be following the docs by an impreza owner, and adding a buzzer at about 500 RPM before the redline, so I know when I'm topping out & it's time to shift, I can also use it to improve fuel economy, by shifting on the first (green) light. I should be cool, so I'll be sure to post pics when I'm done.

Blitz, Greddy, Autometer, and AC Autotechnic make fine quality gauges...I suggest them.
I have Blitz I-D series...not installed yet though.

gauges were really easy to install...I was worried it would be hard at first too..but once you figure the wiring diagram out, its a POC from there on...The funny thing is I used CAT5 cables, Networking cables to run it...it had enough wires inside one housing for both gauges so its allot easir to manage and looks cleaner I went with the APC gauges, the only thing I dont like is you cannot adjust the brightness on them... unless someone can tell me how to add on a variable resistor and to which line

ac autotechnic makes fine racing gauges, check them out

Add the resistor into the switched lead on the gague (the one that ties into your parking lamps or headlights, this turns on the illumination on the gague. putting a pot on that lead should do the trick. indiglow may be different, but it should work.

Colors on gagues are usually as follows:
12V +: Red
Ground: black
Switched lead (for lights): yellow or Blue
Signal wire (if not a mechanical gague: Green [/color]

Autometer are decent. then you've got the JDM Blitz, HKS, Apex.

I would like to hear more on how to install them. It would be great if someone could pick a gauge and detail how to install it right down to the last wire.
