Ebay has a wide choice of intakes...do you guys think there is a difference in the cheap under $20 cold air intakes? or you trust Mugen or whatever more?

go with AEM...no cheap imitations...and your exhuast...you probably put less HP than stock with that thing...go with some ENGINEERED stuff like AEM, Greddy, TRD etc...they put countless hours and time to research...so its got to be the best for your car.

^^^ there is no such thing as a Mugen intake for toyotas. screw the honda owners if they buy one from ebay.
There is no TRD intake for a toyota celica. only for a Matrix.
there is a reason why the Big Names are expensive, and that is because they work correctly.

Don't buy performance parts off Ebay. Didn't people learn about being scammed years ago? AEM, Injen, or TPR.

when it comes to your car , why not spend the little bit more , a car is a very important thing. To most on the boards it's like a family member. Just pay the extra for the engineering and peace of mind. Theres a reason their $225 from AEM or INJEN , if they were the same as they were on ebay , those companies would lower thier prices to compete. But they know theres no way anything for $20 is gonna compete with thier engineering , thier developement, and thier time taken to make it right. just my opinion

But they know theres no way anything for $20 is gonna compete with thier engineering , thier developement, and thier time taken to make it right. just my opinion LOL, all their engineering, development, and time have just led to bogging and CELs because they designed their intakes wrong. A $20 eBay AEM replica performs 99% the same as a real AEM CAI (dynoed a couple years ago), since all AEM's research did was create a pipe with 3 bends. There's nothing special about the real AEM CAI, which is why it falls on its face when it comes to reliability, and is so easy to duplicate with accuracy. If you want the best intakes out there, you can either mod an eBay CAI ($50 shipped) like this: new celica.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=127861 Or pick up a TPR CAI ($180 + s/h). They're the top two intakes out there for performance and reliability (no bogging or CELs like all other name brand intakes), TPR being #1 and the modded eBay CAI #2.

Here's a pic of the Gen 1's piping: Note that the pipe was painted by EasyC himself for his car, so the quality isn't up to par with production parts. Here's a powdercoated Gen 1 TPR CAI installed with a weird breather filter location: And another installed powdercoated one with Injen hoses ( ) and the correct breather filter location: Piping wise, the Gen 1.5 and 2 have a slightly different upper bend, are made of stainless steel, have an adjustable mounting bracket, and an inlet for the VSV hose (instead of using a breather filter).
