went to toyota yesterday hoping to order a new one since mine is peeling off. i showed them this diagram that includes the price. they told me that it now has a new part # and it's gonna cost me over $700 for a piece of glass.

every 7th gen celica has the same sunroof ('00-'05).
and yes...they do have celicas in junkyards. most of the time it's because of a frontal wreck (engine damage) but this obviously does not affect the sunroof.
you'd have to get hit extremely hard in the rear or sides for insurance companies to total out a celica..because they are still new enough that the $$ to fix a car is still less than what it's worth. obviously engine bay damage is a different story though.

not true... they switched from plastic to glass... i think 03 on has the glass sunroofs and 00-02 have the plastic ones.

mines peeling too. Heres what you do. Go get some adhesive stripper, and go over it real good. Then go get it tinted at a shop. or just leave it. The reason why they peel is because it has a tinting over it.

They have from 00's to 04's no sth**ting you... pretty kool stuff, great alternative for us who pay our own sh*t... I have some junk yard phone #'s if anyone wants them...
mine's peeling too. Sucks to have a beautiful car and then have a shitty sunroof because some fag decided you wouldn't want glass shattering all over you...
there may be a problem with the moon roof opening if you replace it with glass. because the motor on the '02 and previous year where designed to handle the weight of the lexan.. on the '03+ they also upgraded the motor as well to support the new glass moon roof
i am knocking on wood, but nothing is peeling on my sunroof just yet and I had mine since 2000...hopefully nothing will because I defintely do not want to pay 700 for new one
The people above who mention trying to fix it with tint don't realize there really isn't a way to use a solvent on lexan without clouding it. You won't be able to get the old junk off.
Why not look into getting the glass cut custom for you at a glass place? I bet it'd be cheaper. Also, if you do replace it, get the glass window from 03+ or you'll have the same problems. I don't see any scenerio where the old motor is so weak it couldn't hold a couple extra pounds.
I'm just a crosshair I'm just a shot away from you
Listen up every one, when you bought your new celi there was a sticker in your sunroof that said "do not clean with any window cleaner just soapy water". Window cleaner dries the tint and makes it peel off. Hope everyone knows.
