I've been doing some research, and based what I found from searching google, I don't want to take the risk of doing sportcompactpro.com or carsponsorships.com - seems a bit too scandalous (sp?)

Anyone know of any LEGIT companies / places to go to apply for a sponsorship?

If you have a sponsored car, please share any tips/advice on how to find a legit company to sponsor you.

thanks, wave

anywho i have been trying to land sponsorship from day 1
but never thought it would be hard work.
i have actually written tons of proposals to a lot of companies with no avail frown

from what i have gathered companies are looking for the best return of investment(ROI) they want cars that are going to be out there, seen by the people. i find the best way to do this is to enter a LOT of shows and be notice. It will be a bit easier to lans a sponsor if you have a good "show" record to back it up.
do what you can by your own if companies see that you are dedicated into investing in your car they are more likely to invest in you.
you need to go above and beyond everyone who is looking for a sponsor in order to stand out.
as mentioned above starting low might be best and landing a sponsorship from a local shop, getting small parts and such is better than nothing.
even with that said its still not a gaurantee to get sponsored. frown

but goodluck with the venture as I myself are in the same situation as you. my main goal beginning of the year is to eneter all local shows so people know iam out there.
hahaha it will be cool if you were in socal also that way we can enter shows togethere and be known as the vsffgt duo rofl thumbsup

think of sponsorships as job interviews, if you want them to give you discounts whats in it for them? are you going to market there product? how will you interact with people? these are the things you need to think about. they wont just give you a bunch of stuff for free. they want you to go out and market there stuff. or like stated above spend tons of money at one shop show that youll help them out if they help you and see what happens from there.

most of the guys sponsored usually are the ones that have already spent an arm and a leg on there cars have entered and won variouse car shows or are seen a lot at the car shows. then they come to you and put the offer out and talk from there. just remember if your at a car show be nice friendly answer questions you never know the person your talking to might just be from greddy or xsengineering or some great shop.
