alright, a little background...

my friend used to have a 01 prelude with tanabe exhaust, aem cai, coilovers, invader carbon fiber hood, ww bodykit, ww spoiler, montegi 18" rims.

he then traded it in for a 04 gmc envoy. of course we heckled and ridiculed his ride for the last month.

so, at work today they were saying stuff 'bout his new car. i was like yeah right, but i went out to the parking lot to discover an 05 rsx type s!

went for a ride, seemed pretty quick, but he was shifting prior to 7000rpm and not fully engaging the vtec though. excellent sound system, bose 7 speakers with subwoofer. 2005 rsx type s, 2.0 k-series engine, i-vtec, putting out 210hp, 143lb-ft torque, pretty nice. i did try to persuade him previously to join the celica family, but alas i was unsuccessful.

anyways, took some pics after work, tried to get them done while there was a bit of sunlight left 'cause the camera had no charge left so no flash...

That thing look like those new civic from the front. Maybe its just because its night time. Maybe not. I use to hate the old RSX headlights. But these look like civics.

they took out the stupid bulges and took the tsx rear tails

Too bad Acura also added some extra weight which to me kinda cancels out the 10 extra HP. But, I also agree that the new RSX looks like a Civic and I would much rather have the 02-04 version.

nice and shiny! love the look of a brand spankin new car off the lot But other than that the RSX-S is ok... I wouldnt buy it though.

oh haha its the same 1 you got in ur sig( really long and thin, my rsx buddy keeps telling me it looks like a manatee or whatever those animals are, but i get back at him for having 10hp less than a 05 rsx )

The new RSX's look more classy and upscale. IM debating RSX or X-runner for new car when celica dies.

note:VTEC kicks in around 5,500RPM

Here's my tought about the new RSX... it's no uniqueness at all... first of all...the front looks like a mazda 6...a TSX back and a CIVIC side... Integra --> RSX, like Celica --> Scion, only better and much unique

Couple things...

VTEC on the rsx doesn't kick in at 5500.. I believe it's around 5800. Only the prelude kicks in as early as 5000 RPM. Also, i love the new lights.. i used to hate the old one with that big butt crack looking thing in the middle making a stupid "M" Mcdonald's sign.. LOL also.. older version and the 05 are very similar. My friend got his 05 RSX back in September so i know what im talking about..but he raced an 04 rsx-s and basically it was just a win-lose-win random situation. He lost once, the other guy lost once, etc.. I can't say for SURE because for the 05 Rsx-s, the verified 1/4 mile isn't even on paper yet.. Also aside from the 210 hp... it DID get an extra weight of 100 lbs. Might cancel out, might not.. not enough testing to know. After all, the car's been out for only about 2 months. But i like the headlights cause it's blackout housing and looks sleek, and the back lights too. :D i want an rsx-s shifter on my celica cause it's so damn smooth. ;D

you should try to talk into him getting a Celica GTS

that 10hp difference between the 02's and 05's shouldnt matter that much. both cars, stock, should be a driver's race.

I test drove a straight RSX a few months back; I thinky they're pretty cool.

they're ok...I still think they're ugly tho...just my opinion

The difference between the the new generation RSX type S is just a slighty different cam grind and lengthend/improved exhaust and flow. I'm willing to bet the WHP is just a tad bit more that the previous (couple of HP), so there should be no real noticiable performance gains. I think its just a sales tactic from Acura...HP does sell.

I'm sticking with my '00 Celica GTS, not as smooth as the RSX, but it has the RUSH that I love after 6800 that the RSX doesnt have. (Celica handles hell of a lot better too!)

^ yeah the rsx-s doesn't handle as good as the celica gts. Even my friend drove my car and complimented my suspensions. and tires.. THe rsx-s 2005 has actually increase on the WHEEL hp not just the crank. My friend says that the 02-04 dynoed around 170 but the 2005s dyno at 180. We'll see though..

anyways, if someone wants me to post pics of the new Rsx-s, i will but i need to know how. haha

Just my opinion...the Celica's interior is just SO small! The RSX's interior is much more roomier (is roomier even a word? )

its roomier cause its bigger, but i like the celicas interior better because of the way it makes you feel like ur piloting an airplane, wut the rsx rapes the celica in though is the stock leds!!! y orange??? y green??? damn you toyota
