Hello all, I have a 2003 celica gt and for the past month or so I have been having trouble starting the car. This just isnt any normal problem, it is complicated. When I get up in the morning and try to start the car after sitting overnight, it starts just fine. However when i go to school and leave the car sit for about 2hrs or so. It takes forever to crank over. It just cranks for a long ass time then finally kicks in but kinda weak. Its not the battery and its not the starter. This is really pissing me off ya know? please, any info would be great! Thanks!

you sure it isn't the batter? my car behaved exactly the same way several months ago - started fine in the morning, had trouble starting it leaving school. about 3 days later my battery died.

yeah man when you get slow kick overs it must be the battery. YOu on stock battery? If so then get a new one either a optima or a die hard battery because stock batteries suck. And also check your spark plugs too, that may be a problem as well.

Yeah i though it was the battery too so i took it out and had it tested at adavance auto. Sure enough the dude said it was no good. So i bought a new one and put it in but i am having the exact same problem! I havent checked plugs but its practically a brand new car! I dumped some fuel injection cleaner in it today so i dunno fellas.

Could be the fuel pump.
In my old car, warm starts would be troublesome, cold starts were fine. In hot weather, it often wouldn't start at all.

Well at least some of you feel my pain! Thanks for all the info! I really dunno what to do though. I took it in to the toyota dealership yesterday and they said that they could do nothing because ofcourse the car started up fine while it was there. They said that they need to see the problem happen in order to try and fix it. So I dunno fellas! I guess ill just live with it for now! damnit
