Has anyone here had to replace their combo switch? All of the climate control lights do not come on and the radio backlight does not come on at all either. I am told that this is due to a broken combo switch. I just have a few questions for those who had this problem...

1) Did it get covered under warranty?
-If not how much $$$

2) Did it take long for repairs?

3) Did your alarm stop making noise as well?

any help is greatly appreciated.

i currently have this problem, you would need to get a new combination meter (not just the switch)...buy it from toyota for 475-575 NOT including labor charges...my radio works but my console lights (cigertte lighter, ac knobs, etc) dont work...i never got it repaired...NOT covered by warranty, i have a 2003 GTS with 10,000 miles on it...CHECK YOUR FUSE FIRST, sometimes your fuse blows to protect the combo switch from frying...good luck

How could it NOT be under warranty? If you've never been into your climate controls (I have, and my lights stopped working), I don't see why they wouldn't have to fix it under warranty.

well i heard from one person that it was covered under warranty... i hope they cover mine because i am not paying 500 bucks for that shit. Anyways, thanks for the help. Does anyone know if the combo meter also affected the factory alarm system? My alarm stopped making noise around the same time...but i am not sure if it is due to the same problem.

jnc44gts18: Did you have the extended warranty...or just a regular warranty? I paid an extra $300 bucks for mine... and i hope it covers it.

If you still have the bumper to bumper warranty, that should cover absolutely everything in/on the car, as long as you haven't been messing with it (or as long as they can't TELL you've been messing with it... wink )

According to them when I bought mine, even things like blown fuses and things should be taken care of.
