would you all reccommend buying a wheel and tire package from them? how fast is shipping? are the tires a good name brand w/ decent tread life, etc.? i'm a poor college student so its appealing to me when i see 18" wheel and tire packages for $799 shipped. i just wanted to know if they are a good company to deal with. i know they're a popular site. i might be interested in these:
I've never dealt with them...I've heard people who've had good experiences with them, and I've heard people that received their wheel/tire package, and they messed up (One wrong size, etc)
Im from sarasota florida and i met this guy with nice rims and I asked him where he bought it! he said from wheelmax!!! Im thingking of buying it from them too when i saved enought money... the guy said it only took a day for it to arrived coz they have one warehouse somewhere in Miami... Im just like you... a poor college student hehehehe!!!!
Hey, your gonna have to meet up with us celica owners in tampa sometime
yeah i like that idea i know there are some nice celica here in sarasota coz i've seen like 5 of them just dont know who are the owners thou... heheheheh maybe we can start a club or something
do a search... I know this company has been discussed a fair amount before.
I bought a wheel and tire package from them, and haven't had any complaints. But beware that if you do have a problem, there is a pretty good chance that they won't be much help.
"Based on BBB files this company has an unsatisfactory record. Specifically our files show a pattern of failure to eliminate basic cause of complaints regarding refunds as promised and a pattern of no replies to customer complaints brought to its attention by the Bureau."
As far as the quality of their products, they sell different brands, so I'm sure the quality varies, but the Exel brand is apparently a house brand that they manufacture themselves. That makes for attractive prices, and the quality seems to be decent. You can get different brands of tires, you just have to ask.
the tire that come with the packages are kumhos and the ratings for them seem to be ok but they are summer tires so you might want to go stock wheels for winter. i would buy there warranty plan too. i plan to get my rims there and im gonna pay the extra 50$ for the warranty
i would rather just buy rims alne from them and choose my tires later, since i won't be installing them til spring anyway. how can you see the price on just rims?
Bought from them. Got my rims/tires in 7 days. I had to go to UPS to get them, because I was never home when UPS came by. Everythings good so far. Had them about 2 months.
But. I lost one of the center caps while driving. Not the whole thing just the part that says the name of the wheel. Wheelmax wanted $15 just for the litte piece that goes in the center with the name on it and $10 shipping. WTF
wheelmax. some of their wheels look good. but material isnt the greatest. took them almost 2 months to ship me my wheels and they shipped me the wrong lugnuts.
I don't like websites that don't even have online ordering. It show's a lack of effort or inteligence. The majority of the wheel stores I've found online though don't offer the traditional check out features your used to at say amazon.com or a major internet outlet. wheelmax.com wheelguys.com wheelsnext.com
out of them I think wheelguys.com has the best page layout, but I still can't click on the wheel I want and order it.. I have to go to a seperate order form and fill in the wheel part number and my vehicle number or have to call them on the phone. primative..

I asked them about that when I called to order. Why they don't have online ordering included on their site. They told me it cuts down on people ordering wheels/tires before they know what will fit on their car. Cuts down on returns because the CUSTOMER ordered the wrong size/style.
Wheelmax is excellent, good shipping, balancing is perfect, tires are in good condition as well. I ordered my 20" rims off there, I couldnt resist seeing 20 inch rims with tires for $1600.
