Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance Turbo Preping

I plan on getting a turbo sometime next year hopefully, do any of you guys know which parts i can buy now that would actually be good for the turbo, i.e. Pulleys or flyweel.

Clutch -
Flywheel -not needed.. but optional (Some like and some think waste of money)
Larger Injectors -
Boost Controller -
EGT and Boost Gauges -

Maybe upgrade internals
Pistons - ( Selling mine! Wisceo's)GT and never opened box
Rods - (Selling mine ! Crower )GT and never opened box

Why are you selling your pistons and rods?
Im planning on buying those from MWR for GTS applications.

don't you need larger fuel injectors only if you do high boost? well..then again if you are planning on boosting high, might as well replace your pistons and rods.

Depends on how much you want to boost.

Clutch and flywheel would be nice.

Im selling them because I Need money.. and I'm unsure if im gunna boost my car... I might just engine sway it or maybe i will boost it.. I just know not for awhile

if your lazy a turbo timer.

you really dont have to change your pistons and rods but injectors,you need to change it mine i just bought mitsubshi enjectors &modified it...pretty much what we did for good performance but telling you its too much gas but in exchange for high defferents on your speed.

Changing your pistons and rods would be a great thing to make sure and be safe though. I know that your runin like 9psi on your car right now and it may be working But i'd worn against constant use of 9psi... I've haeard of many people blowing there engines with that amount of psi

from what i have heard get a compression ration of 8:8:1 and you wont have to worry about blowing the engine on count of compression with the psi

^^yeah, lower compression helps. you'd need head gaskets, rods, pistons, and injectors to run that. atilla from c2 told me that injectors aren't a necessity for the st.1 kit, but are a good idea. i won't be getting 'em right away, but eventually i will be.

what would be a normal boost rate for normal day to day driving for the celica?

4-6 psi. if i get my kit, i'll be running at 6psi (~200-210 hp)

depends who makes your turbo and knows what thier doing...but so far my car runs in its best...and thats up to you how you take care of your car,if you rev your car to the max everytime of course! that piston will give up but believe me toyota's pistons are the best.right now only problem i have is to weld the engine good becuase of too much power engine moves.3weeks now ived been driving my car but no problem so far with that much psi.
