I imported my 2000 GTS form japan. It has only 188 Km/h speed limit and i think all other no limit. It revs up to 8900 rpm and than need change gear. It boosts up near 6000 rpm and goes instantly to 8900-9000 rpm. I just noticed that it comes 100 km/h at about 5.0 secs.

I noticed that there is something modified on the manifold. Some extra pipes installed and some removed form the manifold which comes from the air filter...in 4.th gear it comes to 188 km/h and cut speed.(i ordered Greddy Speed cut eliminator from axronline.com currently)

Is there any idea about this values and modifications?
How other GTSs go to 100 km/h? And what is the rev limits?

I whant to see the difference if any? because there is only 4-5 celicas in my country and no offical dealers at all.

Sounds like you have a very cool Celica there. You really have to show us pictures of your engine. Can you do that?

Even tho HP rating are different here and Japan, I think the JDM celica have like 10 extra HP from the higher redline and different ECU.

yeah...if you post pics of your engine bay we'll be able to help out...not sure what's going on, but I guarantee that the acceleration is from you staying in lift when you shift...it is a 6 speed right???? also...how do you drive that car over here in the states when it is set for like 100 octane gas

I will add detailed pictures soon within few days of my celica. And here, the fuel quality is very low *approx 87 Octan unleaded... No dino tests available here in North Cyprus but i can beat new Alteza, Honda Type R 2003, Mr-s 2002 and 2004 BMW 330 Ci.

Also the car can not run perfectly with the gas in my country... If it is set to 100 octan then thank you for your information... So that is why i have some engine problem... it can not run smoothly...

It is also 6 speed manual but the engine dont need 6th gear ...5th is enough for speed limitation of 188 km/h

Can't wait to see your engine FreedomFlyer. It's been a while since I've had a car that used km/h. 188 km/h is about 100 mph right?

188 KM/H is about 120 MP/H.

Cool. My GT can only do about 100 in 4th. What does the average GTS do in 5th?

Damn celicadragon, I didn't know the GTS was that fast. 130 in 4th and you still have two more gears after that. That's damn good.
Somebody said that if I put a GTS tranny in my GT, it will make a huge difference. Anybody know if that's true?
I figured I would need a c2power tranny to handle my turbo when it's done, but I wonder if you can build a GTS tranny to handle the extra power?

I dont think that gts can go 130 mp/h with 4th ... i have 120 mp/h with 4th... and thinking my celica is not a standard one...

But since i have speed limit *most imports from japan have* i can not go more than 120 mph so 5th and 6th gears are useless for me...5-6 only for overdrive...

you're only using 87 octane??? that's probably why you can't really push you car to it's limit...if your car's ecu is set at 100 octane and you're putting in 87 you car isn't going to run at optimum. i've gotten my auto gts up to 125 mph, took forever and i let go after i reached it; don't know what the top speed is

yes I am using 87 octane unleaded but car is still going very fast but it is a kind of a limitation wich caused by ECU program that does not allow car to go further... a strange electric cut !!!

I am suprised you arent hearing pinging from the gas detonating prematurely. You are gonna screw up your engine if you dont start putting better gas or octane booster in there. Get those pics up thumbsup

^seriously i'd get some octane boost in there soon...your celi sounds sooo fast...it would be a shame to ruin it...and in your country it sounds like it would be hard to replace...and you killed an '03 integra type R? nice thumbsupget those pics up wave

cyprus, isn't that the island near italy?????? and yeah, like they said...its the octane that is your problem...and your electric short may have something to do with the engine ecu sensing some sort of knock and not letting you push any harder for fear that the engine won't function

Celica goes 135 MPH in 5th gear at 7800 RMPS, this is when the "governor" or whatever the ecu thing is called stops you from going any further. I found the only way to go faster that this without moding your ecu is to hit a small down hill and shift into 6th. This will get your car rolling and force it to go into lift in 6th gear and allow you to accelerate more, just hold down the gas and go. I do NOT suggest this, even though my dumb as did it. 145 MPH before I ran into traffic.
