how do you keep the engine bay clean? do you use anything? i try to keep it clean but it still gets mad dirty so i want to know how you guys keep it clean.
I was thinking about a cai in like that but I don't like the fact that it's way low like that. sounds like it would be fairly easy to hydro lock the car. is there any other ways to mount a cai that you may know of?

get the aem and you can buy a bypass valve to prevent hydrolocking. You can also get a shiled for the filter to prevent water from splashing against the filter

...if you put a shield wouldnt that defeat the purpose of positioning the cai so low. I thought it was put there for so more air intake could be possible..iono..i say go with aem w/ bypass valve
would the injen CAI heat shield/plash guard somehow limit the CAI's performance? if it doesnt i might just get a injen instead of a AEM if the installation of the bypass valve on the AEM is too troublesome

no the position of the intake increases more because the air is cooler down by the tire, than sitting on top of the engine

i don't suppose anyone knows where i can buy the splashguard..?

use Spray nine or some other heavy duty degreaser...spray it on scrub whatever you want to and hose it off and dry it nice.
so im guessing that having a heat shield/splash guard wont reduce performance? if so then where can you buy one for the Injen CAI?
um...I think they are called heat shields... or are they splash guards? but that wouldn't make sense because if you put it on facing the wind it's not going to get air...am i right? aren't they just heat shields?

there are splash guards and I don't see how it would make a considerable difference in power to put one on. As someone said already, the point is to get the air which is cooler down by the tire (as opposed to under the hood where it is warmer)
