I have a question I wanted to bring up with you guys before taking my car to get checked out.

Over the past few weeks, I've noticed my car has started making a whistling/whirring noise when I accelerate. It stops the second I take my foot off the gas, and mostly happens right after I start her up after she's been sitting for a while.

I know it's not because it's too cold, 'cos I live in Miami and it hasn't gotten to be below 80 degrees even.

So what do you think? Could it be a belt? It's hard to describe online, but please give me some feedback.

I had that happen once but it was when I accelerated in the higher gears. I could only hear it with the radio off and windows up. I took it to Toyota. It turned out to be a couter-shaft bearing. They replaced it under warranty.
