actually the turbo affect the exhaust a lot, if the tubing past the turbo is too small, you will not get full boost of the turbo, and it would cause the turbo to be too hot fron the backpressure of the heated exhaust

Yeah, with turbo's you're suppose to have 3 inch piping, not 2.5, which is what most people have on non-turbo cars.

yes, but think of it like this, would the fluid from a bottle come out faster if you cut the neck off, or if you just took the cap off

When you have a turbo, you no longer need backpresure (or very litte). So when you have a turbo, the most open free flowing exhaust is the best. (Hence the 2.5"->3" post) I once ran my old car (w/ a T3) with no exhaust (downpipe thats it) and it flew, I later threw on a pipe with a muffler and it didnt hit quite as hard. I would think that if you are going T3/T4 I would highly consider doing a custom exhaust. But then again I dont have air care here MrHayes

as long as the diameter of the exhaust exiting the turbo is maintained through the entire exhaust, then you will have a good system for a turbo
