How would I make my borla catback system louder without having migranes on the highway all the time... Should I take the resonator out? Make a hole on my catback pipe? What should I do? Thanks

im pretty sure you cant make a hole in your exhuast without it getting worse as time goes on...you can replace the catalyic converter, headers, or get bigger piping going from the catalyic converter up to the engine, but im not sure if it matters or not if you need a turbo or anything...its called a downpipe...the resonator will make you lose hp...

its a axle back and if you want it louder, remove the resonator.

Are you saying that if I remove the resonator i'll lose hp? I thought resonator only effected the sound???

well when i had mine off on my last car i felt a lot slower, but i had an auto...but thats just what i think..i thought it only affected sound too, but it made my car slower...im just speakin out of experience from what happened to my car...you still have other pipes that can be upgraded also..i dunno if you got headers, but i heard they make a huge improvement in sound! and with the downpipe, it'll sound like a monster!!

I have an auto. I was just looking for a cheap way to make the car louder. So headers and downpipe huh?
Hm... why would it make it slower...

Ok... This is what i know about the resonator... The resonator is located after the cat and before the axle back system. Which makes that big round thing a resonator... Someone please correct me...

just remove the muffler all together. very simple you'll make some cash by selling what you have and you'll save some weight.

who wants a loud car anyways? thats gay, you'll be loud and most likely still get beat by something that is tuned and quiet. If you're driving an auto and you have a loud exhaust with no back pressure you'll lose torque and torque is what makes autos move quicker. but I don't think there's a resonator its basically a muffler. If you wanna make it loud have a muffler shop remove that stock muffler and get yourself one of those cans from ebay and have them make you an exhaust system out of that. It won't be that restrictive and it'll be light. I myself have a TRD exhaust system and not only is it lighter than stock but its been dynoed against other exhaust systems and has been proven to give better HP and Torque gains.

But it's too quiet for me. So i now I just took the borla off and just going no muffler. Sounds much better and I like the vibrations on the lows. No headaches on the highway either. $450 was a waste... i shoulda tried the no muffler first...

it sounds ok... it's loud in the inside but isn't that loud when you hear it outside. I just let my sister drive it and listen and it wasn't that bad.
I might put the muffler back on...
