if you don't have a 2003+ the 2003 lights are pretty nice looking for the red ones. stock below 2003 look very plain even if you red them out with some kind of really cheap paint or tape.
i got the TYC red, although i think i'm gonna sell my for the black housing ones sometime in the future (i have a black car). but in the daytime with some sun shinin' on 'em, they look like gems. they're freaking awesome. the thing i don't like about reding out the stock tails is that you don't get that cool white bar on the bottom and the TYC plastic is somewhat transparent allowing you to see the housing.
i got mine off ebay for $60 and i get lots of compliments on them and they have held up goo for the last year so far they are the chrome and red ones but i wouldve gotton black if i had a black car
ditto just about everyone...tyc makes the best fitting and best looking styles in my opinion. i'm not a fan of euros...but even those are better than any of the other euros i've seen.
i personally have the tyc redouts and love them. a good buddy of mine, jeff, has the tyc blackouts and they look absolutely amazing on his black celica
Then its red-out stocks, then TYC reds, and then TYC Black
those apc are nice looking, but fittment sucks. it's nearly impossible to put those 2 plastic covers back on. and it's really hard to find these days...
I'm a little confused. It looks like the TCY's have 4 separate lights (although maybe one is just a reflector), but the APC's only have 2. It seems like there need to be at least 3 bulbs: taillight/brakelight, turn signal, and reverse. Can someone explain how this works?

The APC ones I posted look to be just two lights: Brake and Reverse lights, right?
Although its true, there are three bulbs that work. The red cirlce (brake light) has a socket for both the brake-bulb and turn signal-bulb to go in. the white area is for the reverse-bulb.
so when you make a turn signal, the red circle has a blinking light. it is also visible when you brake and use the turn signal.
hope i didnt confuse you.

TYC tail lights have individual sockets for the turn signal bulbs, brake bulbs and reverse bulbs, plus two sections for the reflector.
The only TYC that I like is the red ones, because it is hard to see the different sections of the tail light.
The black and chrome TYC tail lights have too much going on. lets see, 1 brake light, 1 signal light, 1 reverse light, and 2 reflectors. 5 in all - too much going on.
I like the simple ones like the APC pair that i have posted.

I agree with those who like the redded out stock tails. I think it is the cleanest and sexiest tails that a Celica can ever sport. That's my humble little opinion tho, hehe.
