I have Dot 5. I don't know what that means and I haven't used it.
The Celica manual has all the information you need. If you are not using performance pads, or rotors, or brake lines go with what's in the white book only.
Brake fluid is not just brake fluid. No where as bad as saying anti freeze is just anti freeze, but the same.

You are really not supposed to mix different brake fluids as far as dot 3 and dot 5. If you are going to make a switch you should clear the entire system otherwise putting better fluid in wont do anything different. The difference between dot 3 and dot 5 is that dot 5 is a fully silicone formula. dot 5 is really made for motorcycles but works in a car if you clear all the present fluid out. dot 3 is dot 3 there is no better brand it is all the same thing!

plus you never really need to add any brake fluid unless theres a leak going on.

Our cars are DOT3 fluid. Most cars are DOT 3.

i think there are DOT4. go with it.

DOT3 and DOT4 can interchange.
but DOT3/4 and DOT5 can not interchange.
