so now that I have a CAI I never really thought about taking it through a car wash, you know they kind where you "drive through". What do you all think??

I have an AEM CAI, and I've used automatic car washes on a regular basis. I make sure to shut the car off while being washed to avoid any possible suction through the intake. I think a carwash would be about the same as the water accumulated while driving in the rain. So far, no problems.

you shouldn't even go through a car wash if you want to take care of your paint

I've only used an automatic car wash once, I was just wondering if it has ever caused a problem with water accumulation on the air intake. Today was car washing day and it got me to thinking about the use of automatic car washes when someone has a CAI, I know when I'm hand washing I worry about spraying my wheel well. I prefer hand washing as well

only problem i see is if ther ewas a flood inside the wash lol and the water was couple inches off the ground enough to for the tip of the CAI to dip in the water then it would be, otherwise i no should be fine i think some even turn off the car when its going through the wash.

Turn it off and your fine, the auto washes here clean the bottom of your car when you go through, and for people like me with no engine plastics to cover the intake...this would pose a huge threat...but its solved by just turning that car off

hmm yeah, just shut off the car while you roll through because the carwash pushes you forward anyway.
