I just bought a ext TRD exhaust system for my GTS. I have read a lot of reviews on it and I like what I hear. My questions are:

Do you really feel a power increase between the stock and TRD?
How long does it take to break it in?

Ive read that it gets louder once its broken in. Thanks for taken time to read this and possibly post replys.

sorry, i dont own a TRD exhaust but i want to contribute my opinions.

Congrats on buying a great exhaust. thumbsup

it might take a while for your car to get used to the exhaust, and as with any performance mod, you'll feel an increase in power.

it says in your profile, that you also have an AEM CAI. well then, the exhaust should free up more HP for you now. you usually dont get the full potential of an exhaust by itself, which is why its always a great idea to have an intake along with an exhaust system. from start to finish, intake to exhaust. smile

you might wanna check out some header for your car. that should complete your breather modifications thumbsup

again, congrats on the TRD exhaust and congrats on a great choice thumbsup

oh shit, your profile also states that you've swapped your ECU with the 01 celica's, good job on that too thumbsup

Ive looked into headers but I want headers that will actually do something for my car. The thread on here about headers just says they pretty much do nothing unless you dont have CAI or any mods at that. If I had forced induction then heck yes I would want headers to allow a better flow. I think its TPR that is gonna put out some headers and ect for the celica that will do some real magic. Anyhow thanks!

^^yah, just wait. Easy_C (chris) is teasing us with some cliffhangers of the new TPR productions. so you can bet that they'll come out with a true race header for the celica. thumbsup

I bought the TRD exhaust for my GTS and I love it. I noticed a decent power gain, and it gets better as it gets broken in. The break in took about a month, but I also took a road trip from Texas to Pennsylvania and back, so the highway miles really helped. The sound is great, but it gets drowned out by the AEM CAI. You won't regret buying the TRD exhaust.

i bought my trd exhaust back in october for my gts. i had the dealership install it and when i drove off, honestly i was kinda disappointed.. sounded great, but the power i was hoping for wasnt there.. i took it straight home and reset the ecu, and took her back out for a spin. totally different car!!! night and day. nothing like a turbo dont get me wrong, but definitly felt a huge difference over stock. over time the sounds gotten to be badass also... get one!!! thumbsup

Do it yourself. I installed mine alone in my garage with just simple garage tools. It's easy and the only hard part was taking it out from the rubbers. I got mine used and I'm very happy with it. Sound and performance thumbsup

That dyno sheet is kinda funky. First run was on Jan 27th, 2001 @ 9000 miles and the other run at April 11th, 2002 @ 24,700 miles. Why didn't do the same two runs before & after install the same day? Hmm...

whooa sweet! I got my ext. exhaust for $500 from the toyota dealership here. The parts guy gave me the sweetest hook up ever because I used to do part runs for him for free while I was doing a part run for saturn when I worked there. He also gives me free oil filters, touch up paint and other small misc parts for free. I think I scored a good deal.

I got a questions, if you buy a TRD exhaust, and you have stock celica body, you would want the non extended one right? and the extended exhaust is for the body kits? such as the TRD one? right?

really? it's only two bolts and three hangers!

oh wait! were your bolts rusted on? yes that can be a bitch to remove since you really don't have any leverage when your on your back trying to pull a ratchet.

no the bolts were easy. it was getting those friggen hangers out of the rubber holders that made it hard. My mom is gonna be ticked when she sees her new dish soap bottle half empty now. I should of had my friend come over and help. Anyhow out with the old and on with the new! MMMmmmmmmmmm... TRD EXHAUST!!!
