Is it safe to run a 50 shot of "dry" nitrous to a stock 2000 GT motor?

You must use a wet system. A 50 shot is ok to do. Just be careful with it, don't use it all the time.

Yea you could do a 50 shot but i would kinda be hesitant to use it often. With a 35 you could use that all the time with no fears.

Well, if you are researching this. I thought I'll just throw this out there. Nitrous Express (Nx) makes a nitrous kit that is adjustbale for a 35-50-75 shot. I think that is the perfect setup for us and that is what I recommend.

Why does it have to be a wet system?
I talked to a guy that builds race cars and he said that you just drill a hole into the side of the intake and have it spray into the intake directly.

I believe the dry system sprays in closer to the filter of the intake, or in the fuel line. Not exactly sure but it requires a return fuel line...we do not have this return fuel line, so wet is the way to go. Wet is also safer than dry. Why do you want a dry system so bad? Go wet.

Because "dry" means there is no fuel enrichment, just shooting nitrous with no extra fuel will lean out your motor, plus, that nifty plastic intake manifold on your motor will shatter into a million pieces when your motor coughs with a 50 shot of dry N2O.

You can only go dry if you add new programming to the ECU to enrich the fuel, and driving without nitrous will make the car run rich.

If you go with a ZEX wet system, you can do the whole "tap the intake and install a fogger nozzle" thing, it suppliments fuel and nitrous through the same nozzle, and it's a lot safer than a straight dry setup. Multi-port nitrous is a lot safer still, as each cylinder gets equal amounts of N2O and fuel.

If you go the ZEX route, be sure to install your nozzle after the MAF sensor, or in other words, in between the MAF and the throttle body. putting it before the sensor will mess the sensor up, or possibly cause an explosion (MAF sensors are a glowing-hot wire of platinum!) fuel + N2O + glowing-hot filament = BIG bada BOOM!

start with a mild jetting (35) for street driving, only run 50-shot jets at the races, otherwise you may wear out engine vitals a lot faster.

I was planning to get the nitrous works kit w/ 15 lb bottle and a higher performance fuel pump to supply the engine with more juice so that it doesn't burn lean...do I have to adjust the engine timing for a 35 or 50 shot?

People on the boards have been using a 35-50 shot without the use of an aftermarket fuel pump or retarded timing.
