stage 1: Street use with emphasis on bottom to mid-range power...can be used with stock retainers and stock rev-limiter. RPM range idle to 7000+ rpm. Lobe Center 114 DEG. Duration is 268 / 260... even though stock is 274 / 260...however, duration at .050" of lift stock is 204 / 195... and stage 1 is 220 / 209
Stage 2: Designed specifically for supercharger / turbo, and their Titanium retainers must be used with the cams...duration is 262 / 262, and 211/211 at .050" of lift
Stage 3: Spring / Retainer kit required...Designed for street/Strip NA engines...rev range 1000 rpm to 7800 plus...duration is 272 / 272!!! and at .050" of lift they are at 224 / 224...lobe duration is 112 DEG.
STAGE 4, FULL RACE::: Spring / retainer kit required...RADICAL track use, requires ECU upgrade...rough idle...a gigantic 280 / 280duration at .010" of lift...and 232 / 232 at .050" of lift... FINALLY...THANK GOD...and Crower

no information on the 2zz...as they claim it is hard to reproduce...I'm currently arguing with them on this one right now...
the only real difference in the 2zz lift cam and a vtec cam is that the vtec cams have 3 lobes and the lift cams have 2...and they are producing the 3 lobe vtec cams right and left!!!!!..I don't see why they are having such trouble

they will not do 2zz cams they are too expensive to make. this is an email response I got on 12/17/04 -------------------------------------------------- Nothing for the 2ZZ, only the 1ZZ. The 2ZZ cam core is very difficult to reproduce. ahhhh...sorry to hear that mike...any yes the 1zz are available for purchase...go to www.crower.com...they [ crower.com...they] aren't listed under the toyota menu...but if you email info@crower.com they will send you the same information...I'd say the easiest thing would be to get the number and call them and place the order...these are gonna rock...JUST gotta get the money together...and the $1,000 for the install

good for the 1zz people but us 2zz people are screwed so you gt s will probably end up faster than us if they keep making the parts for you and even if they do make the parts for us they are way more expensive
respect the gt-s

^^^^^ I don't know...it was a guess...I've never done headwork before, and when I had it built I had everything done all at once...most places around here charge $450 for a simple swap of fully assembled heads... and I was thinking about the stage 3 setup...they'd have to pretty much build it again

I don't understand this. They can build new and better internals for 1ZZ but not 2ZZ. Companies have lost their damn minds to not develop parts for a car thats been around since '72.

Pricing is $438 for the pair, $356 for the spring and titanium retainer kit
what do they mean pairs? and would you need to get the spring and titanium retainer kit? pretty much am i going to be saving closer to 900 bucks for the cams or just 438?

Who did you hear 240whp from? If it was me, then i really dont know what HP figure was made. My shop at the time was a fraud so lord knows if they told the truth about that
TPR Intake! - Injens high end with AEM's low end and NO BOGGING! TPR EXHAUST! - Exhaust made 10.5 whp peak and 32 whp at 6300 on my car!!!

^^ nobody knows the gains yet cause they arent out. peopl eare speculating.
also if you think they are charging $1100 - $1400 cause they think you'll pay it youre nuts.
crower stated their reasoning is difficulty. they obviously have an unlimited time and budget.
believe me when I say these ARE NOT CHEAP to make. especially in the measly 10 - 20 per order quantities. you're lucky they are coming out at all.
basically every company's opinion is that the juice is not worth the squeeze.
the 2zz cam is NOT a bad cam. it's also a very well developed cam so it's gonna be very difficult to make a better one du to the materials and setup of the stock system.

I think 438 is a good price for 5-15whp. Look at how much gains you get from an intake, exhaust, header, pullies, etc. NA cars are expensive to mod, but more safe...in my opinion. I think that the cams will provide more benefits than an I/H/E setup. Plus, I am sure that there will be a bit of a torque/acceleration gain much better than i/h/e. I'm just defending the price.
Just my 2 cents
Dan
