hey whatsup...alright i got a question and i want you people to be creative with it and give me some ideas. I just got $15,000 dont ask from where or what its just a long story, but I want to put most of it into my car. I drive a 1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL 5 speed. I definitelly want to get lambo doors and I already have subs neons rims exhaust intake, all the little things. I want to spend most of it in the engine. What can I do? like what would I really need to get it into a twin turbo. Main thing is making it faster. I only drive it during the summer. GIVE ME IDEAS. thanks

Damn how can you not know if your cars not turbo spineyes lol. Id Love a turbo. Id upgrade yours if i were you, and possibly rebuild your engine to handle the extra power if you need it. Id also consider putting a body kit thumbsup

my bad, its not turbo. but 218hp isn't bad. Do a custom turbo. find the biggest turbo out there. upgrade all the internals and so on. then get coilovers for your suspension and you will be set.

If I had $15,000 I'd use it as a downpayment on a pimpin condo cause my house it too big or use it to backpack across Europe...BUT, if you must spend it on a car, I'd suggest buying another Celica grin

for 15k, you could make this car very fast. I am sure there are Turbo kits available for a 3000gt. It has 218hp stock, so its not like its a pussy car. Its got lots of potential. But unless he responds to us, we will never know what he wants. lol.

here's my list of options:
1. Buy an evo or 350z or s2000 or supra and do a few mods to those which don't need much..
2. Buy a VR-4 and mod it...or if you can find one...a VR-4 spyder which are rare but gorgeous...
3. get a sweet body kit, 99-style lights and spoiler...and do a giant ass single turbo upgrade...
4. sell it, and add the 15 grand for an awesome celica gts...widebody kit, staggered 19's...custom paint...carbon fibered out...beefed up internals with a killer turbo... tastyok make this number one on my list happywink

^ nuh uh...gas mileage...cost...handling in snow...speed bump tests... tongue

but for real those engines are bulletproof and you can have a SERIOUS street racer without even touching the internals...that bottom end is solid for sure. thumbsup

I would
A) save it

B) Sell your car, and use the $15,000 + whatever you get for the car as a downpayment on a BMW E46 (M3), or better yet, E39 (M5)

everyone should quit telling him to get rid of the car he has and likes a lot and just tell him that the engine he has has a lot of potential and, just slap on 1 big turbo and you will get more power that way then to twin turbo it and since those cars are very heavy definately look into some seroius weight reduction , and when you get the the turbo make sure you have a 3" inch exhaust--then maybe get new cams if they make them

you have you logic backwards, the 3000gt will rape them both if he had anywhere near 15,000$ in it

its 3000GT > Evo > Sti

How about you sell the SL and go buy a VR4. Accept nothing less. You should be able to get a VR4 for that easily.
