Ight buddy, what you need to do is get jack stands so you can do all four wheels at once, sanding is the first and most important step, use 400 grit sand paper, I used one bottle of primer and one bottle of Duplicolor gunmetal wheel paint per rim, you will need to duct tape off the tires so you wont overspray the tires, you can also use clear coat if you want but the duplicolor stuff already has a glossy finish, and remember when you are spraying painting to keep the bottle moving and dont let the paint build up, its better to do many light coats then one thick coat, as for scratching and chipping, the more coats the better. pm me if you need more help, heres a pick of my painted 17's

They all look nice! I might have to paint my stock rims now just while I wait the rest of my 6 months for my rims to come from overseas.

Hmm...I hadn't considered doing this before, it might just put some life back into my rims. They're all scratched up, so do I just sand more before painting it to get it smooth or will that not work? I'd hate to start sanding away only to realize it is still going to be messed up. Would mine look better black, hyperblack, or gunmetal? I didn't realize that so many painted rims looked so good.

I would recomend getting your rims powdercoated, much more durable than any kind of paint. I had a company do mine for $200, they sandblasted them down to bare metal powdercoated them and clear coated them. I'm very pleased with the results, heres a pic of them when i got them back. =)
PS: This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

hey man thats freakin bad ass...where did you take them? i want to do that with my rims but make them black...i think doing this is soo much cheaper and unique...then get some bad ass low pros and drop it..damn..so much better than getting new rims...200 bucks is not bad at all...

I took them to a local shop here in denver called Applied Plastic Coatings Inc. But i'm sure you can find some place in your town that does powdercoating, its a pretty popular surface treatment. The place i took them to mainly powdercoats metal staircases and fences for outdoor use, but they did my rims no problem. They had tons of colors to pick from too, like 500 different colors and textures and color mixes, but i thought plain white would look best on my white celi.
