Whats up!

I just got a Alpine IVAD300 and because i don't have experience installing this things, I took it to a audio shop. Everything is okay in the system except that the stupid head unit does't play dvds!!!

It gives me a "Picture off, for your safety" message!. At the time i was in the shop i did't have a dvd to check it out, but when i came home i tried a couple of dvds and nothing!, I only hear the dvd playing but can't see the image.

Anyone know what could it be??
How can i disable the message?

Thanks guys

Oh!, the other mods are, polk db speakers for the front and rear, two alpine amps, one for the speakers and the other one for the Rockford Fosgate 12" subwoofer, also a capacitor.

when you put the dvd in are you in "Park"?? i heard that dvd player will only play, for ur safety, when u're park and not drving..so if u're park and have ur e-brake up and it still don't work, take it back to the shop and tell them to re-install it and make it work..cuz they mess up big time..

Yeah it's a common safety feature, it's not going to play unless the car is in park with the handbrake one. If you installed it yourself, you would have been able to easily bypass that. If I were you I'd read the manual, and skim through the installation it should ask you to ground a wire somewhere for the safety feature. Im guessing the shop screwed that up, so ground that wire and you can bypass the safety feature. wink

you can buy an adapter for like 25$ that bypasses that..but its kinda important bc they dont want you paying attention to the dvd not the road. but if your parked and you have a manual check all the ebrake saftey wires, i think they tap into the one that sends the signal to the gauge cluster, so theat when the little brake light on the dash comes up the dvd wil be usable.

You have to ground out the wire that goes to the e-brake. I had to do it when I installed my Pioneer.

Guess what guys!
Now i am really mad, because this morning i went to my car to get a little bit familiar with the unit, but now not even sound works, no radio, no cd, i just see the screen working like it suppose to be but i don't get nothing. I checked the capacitor and i noticed that it no longer have the digital numbers on like yesterday.

I am pretty sure i am going to be the first customer tomorrow in the shop and i am going to get crazy there man, i just can believe how crappy work these guys made. I did't do it myself because i don't know nothing about electrical stuff and shit.

Where i live is not ilegal to have the monitor on while driving, so before the shop started to work on my car i told them to install the dvd so i can see the dvd's because what is the point of having a dvd in your car if you can only use it when is stop?? I can do that in my house or the movies, that stupid, i know is for safety but is stupid.

I hope that by tomorrow i can get back here and have good news, after that i will post pictures of the system and i will do a hell promotion to that shop.
