Ive decided to get a short shifter to quicken up my shifts. Ive ruled out the twm cause its too damn short looking and it sounds like reverse is hard to get into and i back in spaces all the time.

Im thinking that I should get the TRD or the B&M. I want it to be quicker but i dont want to have to fight with it. The B&M is shorter so it looks like it would be a bit quicker but I would imagine the TRD would be smoother. What should I get.

If you caould include where has good pricing that would be cool too. I wanna buy it this week. Theres a lot of places out there. It seems like it will be around 150 for either but if I can get either cheaper let me know.

EDIT: I have a 2000 GTS with the 6 speed

I have a B&M knockoff (the same stuff) and the shorter stick doesn't mean the shorter throws. No pun intended and no fun intended.
I believe no SS for the Celica or most/all cars will make you shift sooner/quicker without causing wear and tear to other more important parts of your transmission or synchros.
It's the throw that is different, the stiffness that is different, the precision that is different, and the shorter stick that is different.
This has no bearings on how fast you can get the transmission itself to whine down or up without causing a bit of premature wear because you are cramming the shifter into gear. The SS gives the inexperienced driver an excuse for shifting earlier into the next gear without worry until they blow the engine or wear the transmission because they think a short shifter is OK and means shift quick.
The SS is just another piece to the puzzle.
Add a SS, what's next?

If you couldnt shift quicker it would be totally useless. Im checking out suprastore now.

EDIT: Before I buy I just want to make sure that the B&M is not transmition specific. By that I mean It will work on the 5 or 6 speed. Im askingcause I always see it as a gt/gts option. I have the 6 speed and want to make sure i get the right thing

TWM sits lower than B&M
B&M rules, it's real nice.
ok, you are buying it tonight, buy B&M and you won't regret anything at all. you can slap me if you don't like it, but if you don't buy it, i'll slap you. rofl

yeah man i bought my B&M ss from hopupracing.com it was 139...when i first installed it, it was like shifting a stick through mud, but that was prolly due to the fact that its 10 degrees in nebraska, but after a week of driving, its smooth as crap shifting..i installed it myself and it took like 2 hours, lol, but im still learning the tricks of the trade! its a good buy bro!

"If you couldnt shift quicker it would be totally useless"

It's not useless, that's why the call it a short shifter not a quick shifter. The SS will let you think you are shifting quicker due to inexperience. The SS has more to it.
That's why the never ending debate on which SS.
I can get it into gear before you, my stick is shorter, and my throws are stiffer, but my transmission doesn't agree and my synchros are whining.
How and why? I wonder?

Well either way I bought one but suprastore sent it to my LA address and not San Diego like I asked. The guy on the phone said he would hook me up on a flywheel for it so i think ill get one soon.
