Hey, im new here and dont have a celica. I have a 2003 Tiburon, i have posted on a couple hyundai boards but havent found enough information. Im looking to buy airbags for my car. A guy offered me his kit which he only had on his car for about 700 miles for $1750. He has 8 parker valves, KMW struts, digital gauge, 2 3gallon tanks, a contorller, all the fittings i need, and all the air line he has. He said he would toss in the new thomas compressors for $175 a piece. Is this a good deal? Thanks

yeah, it's not something I would ever buy, so I dunno for sure.

Compare his offer with what they would cost brand new. 700 miles of wear and tear ain't bad unless his streets are full of potholes.

IF this kit is top of the line, I say go for it. Getting it for that price if its in good condition is good. But me personallly, I used to have a truck and was real into the airbag stuff. I would not spend over 1500. So just figure out the quality of everything you are buying, and if it seems good, you just made a great investment. Good luck to you.

Also with getting airbags i have no place to put the tanks because i dont really have a trunk with my stereo in it. So looks like i will have to take out the back seats. I could possibly stack the tanks behind the back seats. Have a look at my trunk and tell me what you think. http://www.newtiburon.com/yabbse/index.php?board=26;action=display;threadid=25326

Thanks smile

OMG. Do a custom job. Take out those back seats. Get something done to make it flat and put that tank back there. It will look really good with the rest of your car. It is a very nice setup.

im thinking just making it completely flat and carpeting it, then mounting each tank and compressor behind each seat. Then POSSIBLY a nitrous bottle in the middle. Im not too sure about nitrous yet, but i might throw a tank back there and not hook it up just for show, but idk.

I think that sounds cool. I can totally imagine it, but I got a little confused. You are taking out the seats and carpeting it right? Cause thats what I meant, and you sorta make it sound like oyu are putting it behind the seats.

What i was just talking about was taking out the back seats. when i said a tank behind each seat i meant behind the drive seat and passenger seat. Im leaning towards that but may try to stack them behind the rear seats if i can. Ill have to see once i actually have the tanks.

Once you do this. You gotta come back here and post some pics. I want to see this. I think it would be better though to put them where the rear seats are. It would just be too crammed back there with the system. Unless you want to do something like this... nevermind. I will post a pic of it later.

Damn good job on the stereo.

But yea that would look sick if you did all that. I have bags too and i'm gonna custom do my whole trunk and everything, but i'm gonna leave my rear seats in. thumbsup

most decent car kits should cost around $1500-2000. check around to make sure what all he has and why it costed so much for him..he might have just gotten ripped off. but really i'd just buy it new and at least get a limited warranty on it or a guarantee from the shop who will install it. after you get them installed let me know how they work..i need to get some because for anyone who has ever driven a car through all the potholes in new orleans (thats really all the "streets" are here--nothing but torn up roads from live oaks & sinkholes) knows that if you just drop your car with springs & struts..you wind up with a lot of cracked kits. so KIT & good luck with the bags! thumbsup
