Anyone ever installed one of these into their Celicas? I don't think I've seen anyone talk about them.

I don't like the slow throttle response from my automatic GT. Of course.

But I also don't like how I have to push the pedal down practically to the floor before I get any kind of gas. So I'm thinking about purchasing a throttle body spacer..so I don't have to press so hard on my pedal before I get a response from the gas.

Anyone know anything about these things? Someone suggested it to me when I was saying how I didn't like how I have to press the pedal so far..cause I drove his 300zx and I barely pressed my foot on the pedal and it was speedin off. Then I got in my auto GT and was like DAMMIT! Of course my Celica will never match up to his 300..but yea.

Any comments, suggestions or experience with these things?

Throttle Body Spacers [store.wpsracing.com]

Hard to believe, but this innocent-looking spacer can pull up to 20 extra horsepower out of your car, truck, or SUV. By raising your throttle body height 1 in., this Helix Power Tower spacer increases the velocity of air and fuel into your engine. At the same time, its spiral flow design creates an air flow vortex that improves fuel atomization and increases combustion. Comes complete with all gaskets and hardware to complete the installation.

I don't think this has anything to do with your transmission - moreso altering the flow of air through the throttle body to increase the amount and velocity confused

I didn't know inducing turbulence increased volumetric efficency! I thought a smooth airway (for denser air) was the best!? That whiff smells like snake oil to me!!!

Decrease Velocity=Increase Pressure

More Pressure=More Fuel

More Fuel=More Power

I think that's the same principle the TORNADO air filter system works on haha.

hello guys,

Velocity (speed) has nothing to do with pressure...however the faster the air entering a cylinder the faster the cylinder FILLS UP.."Pressurizes".
WHAT THE throttle body spacers do is the LIKE WHAT STEPHEN SAID...IT INCREASES THE VELOCITY and yes , Creates turbulence...which is WAY more Dense than smooth laminar flow..yes like a tornado!!! which Compresses the air a lot more...creating ..WELL PRESSURE!!!
spacers are the fuel injection equivalent of Velocity Stacks found in race cars using CARBURATORS.. ( its the long chrome necks.)
and yes they really work. performance throttle bodys...already come with them, cool

you will NOT get 20 hp from these lol

I suggest you simply tighten your throttle cable since it sounds like it could be loose wink

that and you have an auto gt. it's not gonna have super response.

I agree, I have an auto GT too, it's only going to get so fast.

I tightened my cable not too long ago, and now there's no lag from me having to push past the dead play in the pedal. You should try it out, there's a guide in the installs section.
