So, now that the last model year Celica is out, what do you guys think is the future for our fantastic cars. I have an auto 03 GT (my parents made me get the auto). But one day when I can afford a new one, I want to get a GTS manual. Think they'll still sell parts five or six years from now. Think Toyota will ever bring the Celica back, or do you think Scion has taken over?

the celica will not come back, but parts will still become available. toyota will be releasing a future sports car eventually that is a reasonable price range, mb under Scion.

yea, Celica is done. nobody buys them so its not making them any profit. Toyota is relesing a super car soon. I think it will be released as a Lexus because the price tag will be around 100k. I would hope they will release something else that is more affordable.

Ya, I doubted that Toyota will bring the celica back. It sucks though. Toyota said they stopped making it cause sales went down, which is true, but only of new celica's. I've been seeing so many older GTS's now, cause they have dropped in price. They could have brought out one last minor redisign with some engine tweaks to satisfy enthusiasts, but its all about making money.

Ya, that supercar is coming out soon. Lexus is bringing one out, but Toyota may release another Supra, or something even better. Its sick, I've seen pictures

Ive noticed around my town that more 7th gen Celicas have been poping up. Guess plp r buyin them now since they are lower in price than before and arent being contiuec. when I got mine, it was one of 3 i knew of. Now there are like 8 Celicas. I think the Celi will turn out to be like the Supra, not too popular til its gone.

that'll happen... same thing where i live... when i first had my 3000GT i didn't know anyone else in the area that had one.. actually i didn't even know they existed till dad pulled mine in the garage... but anyway now they're popping up all over because they're cheaper than they've ever been... same thing's gonna happen with the celica... a few years from now tons of people around here will have them.. as for now... i'm the only one whose celica has a body kit... and a believe i've only seen about 2 or 3 others around here

The future for the Celica will not be bright. No one's gonna reallyl remember it. It's not so much of a legend in any sense either. IMO, it's going to dissappear from the books.

Our resale won't be as high as let's say the Supra. For reasons thats obivous; like turbos(2 of them) and RWD.

You're comparing a "dime a dozen" sports coupe to a sports car... Celica resale value will never be anywhere near the supra's.

i must've missed something... cause i don't remember anyone saying that it would be near the supra's value... i just remember them saying that the value of the celica would go up... (like the supras did when they were cancelled)

I still have faith that the Celica will come back with a new look and a new engine to satify people that want more power in a long time...i think to compete against the new Eclipse that is coming out...i mean the Celica has been around for 7 generations...it still has a chance

Economics 101 Market price depends on demand and supply. There are too many Celicas out there. and they are not in much demand like other collectible cars. Price will not go up soon. If you are thinking of buying a Celica as an investment, and expect price to go up, forget it. Even the MR2T price is stable, still it has not gone up yet. But it will soon. I'd say the demand is pretty stable but the number of MR2T left in the US. is going down.

It's supply and demand that got the celica discontinued to begin with. Don't be dillussional, Celica will be gone, and it will go silently too.

There is a slight chance that you could get a good price. But you have to keep the car in mint "stock" condition and don't drive it. In 15-20 years from now, you might be able to sell it at $$$. But what the fun of owning one without driving it.

I bought a 2005 Celica GT last September and the dealership was trying to talk me out of it telling me to buy a scion, I don't want one of those pieces.

Ahh yes I feel your guys's pain imagine not even being able to see the S-15. I think a lot of people woulda bought the S-15 but Nissan was in a decline at the time and there merger with renault made it even clearer that the US would get nothing but sentras and altimas for the next 5 years. Maybe the same thing is happening to Toyota right now.

I'm still waiting to see if the celica (and mr2) will continue to be sold in europe, and that the reason for the celica&mr2 not beeing sold anymore in the us is simply because those shitty scion's.
Toyota Norway had never ever heard anything about the celica and mr2 beeing discontinued when I contacted them, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
