I just bought a AEM intake and wondering how hard is it to install these? I've seen pictures and it looks very confusing. Do most people do it themselves or just have it installed professionally? confused

Im in the same boat. I just got my AEM and i dont know if i should try doing it myself or go to a shop. It doesnt look to hard to do, but the instructions they gave me are really shitty. If anyone has better instructions or knows a site that will lead me to better instruction pm me. That would be great.

installing an intake is very simple...
i installed my Injen shortram following the instructions provided with the intake and the instructions on ecelica and I had no problems...
It's not confusing at all.

Installing a CAI is much more difficult than installing a shortram. I could probably do a shortram with my eyes closed. Doing a CAI its better to take off the front bumper for your first time. That way you have room and can see what you are doing. I followed my injen directions, it took me probably around 2 hours or so to install. I took my time with it, but there were times that I got lost. Then it had trouble running, then I realized one of the hoses wasn't tight, then I had to reset the battery again. And bla bla. Its good to do, to learn how to get used to installing things. Its hard, but not impossible. Take off your stock box (very simple) and look at the instructions, and just inspect where everything is and if you think you can do it. Or just grow some balls like I did and start tearing away at it before even looking at the instructions. IMO, I say give it a shot yourself. Unless you have no faith and cannot problem solve. Good Luck

Yes, more than likely someone will be on at the time you are doing this, and will hopefully respond to a post quickly. We could probably answer your questions.

Yup yup! I installed my own Injen CAI with these folks nice help. I also installed an AEM in my friends Celica. IMO the AEM installation was much easier.

i did mine on my own...took me about 45 minutes without taking off the front bumper.. i improvised... its not too hard if you look around the net for basic installation instructions and look at pics before you go at it.
