there's no way i can afford buying an expensive intake. i'd just never do it. for the $200 or so it costs i'd rather buy springs, put it towards exhaust or something bigger. i'm always so broke as it is. i had an eBay intake on my mustang and was thoroughly impressed. the gf is giving me $50 to spend towards my car. so should i get something like this? this or a comparable eBay one of course... has anyone ever heard of mugen. and if i do get this intake, which color? black: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7950115934&category=38634blue: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7950115928&category=38634obviously i don't care a lot about performance because every single thing i've done to my car has been for show, and it's an auto gts. but i would like to have an intake and eventually an exhaust.

the way I see it...if you don't care about performance, then why spend money on any performance mod?? Just keep the hood shut at shows and spend the 50 bucks on something else.

I didn't even realize Mugen made intakes for our car. I thought they were strictly Honda/Acura.

don't do it if you want the basics for the car, do it right that cheap stuff isn't even gonna do anything, so why waste money on it?

Mugen makes nice and very expensive parts for HONDAS.
The thing you found is a copy of the AEM/Injen CAI with a sticker on it.

Don't get it. It's a fake. For example, there are TRD intakes sold on ebay as well. They look just like the Mugen one but has the TRD logo on it so they can raise the price of the ebay intakes. Your just paying for the extra sticker that they slap on the intake. Since you go to shows, people are going to laugh at you with the Mugen intake. They are strictly for HONDA/ACURA. Mugen is a nice brand, but they don't really make anything for the our celicas. I'd stick to AEM/INJEN if you are going for the show look. Most people with show cars put A LOT!! of money into thier cars but it seems you want to take an easier way out. Just save up a little bit and get something that's worth every penny. here is the example of the ebay trd intake

That intake is so :lame: The guy probably made it in his basement. Everyone that sees that it has a Mugen sticker on it is going to , because its so NOT mugen. Mugen only makes parts for Hondas. You might as well put a RalliArt or Nismo sticker on it, same thing. Its so cheap it doesn't even come with instructions. Its also built with a real cheap ass filter, that probably will become unglued during the summer heat. I'd stay away from this POS intake if I was you, too risky of a chance of wrecking your engine.

Hey if your interested I bought the same exact intake. Its a complete knock off of the AEM. I am very happy with it, and it makes the coolest sound when you run the car. You can really hear the thing sucking air through it. Also when I turn the car off the pipe echos out some crazy sounds. For $50 bucks I was very pleased. One thing is wrong with it. The hose that comes with the kit isn't long enough to give any space for a plastic breather pipe that runs from the radiator to some box that says DO NOT OPEN! To fix this problem just cut the stock hose and use it instead. I took a ton of pictures of the install if you are interested. And if you have any more questions feel free to ask. jeremy_selzer@yahoo.com Jeremy

I didn't even realize Mugen made intakes for our car. I thought they were strictly Honda/Acura. so it's a brand you've heard of i thought it was only honda/acura as well. king motorsporsts is the ONLY person that sells mugen in america. there is NO ONE else (unless you buy used). mugen is one of the best aftermarket companies around, if not the best.

That is a cheap ripoff because Mugen doesn't make stuff for Toyota. Mugen is for Honda like TRD is for Toyota. Either the person selling is really stupid and doesn't know any better or he thinks he can sell shit just because of the Mugen label, showing exactly how stupid he really is.
Mugen well NEVER make Toyota aftermarket parts, so even if it was a real Mugen part, its not for your Celica, more then likely its for the RSX/TSX and just happens to able to fit.
Bottom line is that Mugen doesn't make for Toyota it is the race division for Honda, so thats just a knockoff with a label.
