Okay, so this guy has challenged me and now I'm going to show hime up. The challenge: he's going to buy an old car and make it much better/faster than anything I have. So I'll make it "fair" and buy an old car too, the Supra so I have some questions hopefully you guys will help: Will the supra hit lift? How much will one cost me, stock, manual ( I know it's rare)? What do you guys think of what I'm doing? There's no real reward in this challenge but knowing I accomplished something, so hopefully I'll pull it off, don't care how long it takes.

"Will the Supra hit lift?" hahaha, no VVTL-i in there. Just a 3 litre I-6 and Twin Turbo's if it comes with the car.

supras have vvt-i no lift.. but the 93-98 TT supra was the best one.. but you wont find one for under 20 grand unless it doesn'twork at all then maybe 10 grand lol y not look into a 1st gen gsx or tsi those are cheap and can be made to go very fast

If you want lift so bad then stay with the GTS or get a Corolla XRS...
You should have some common knowledge about a car before you buy it...
My car is gunna be 10x faster than yours...haha... I'm gunna buy like 10 of those speedchips! I figure if 1 gets me 20hp then 10 will get me 200hp!

Buddy if he is going with old as in muscle get ready to have your ass handed to ya ... sorry bud but i dont see you winning if your on a budget. I mean ive seen a 350z run the 1/4 in less than 7.5 but it wasnt street legal. Ive seen a Nova, Camaro, Olds 442, Belair, Trans Am, and Vettes run the 1/4 in 10 or less and still be street legal. Oh and the Camaro i saw ran a mid to upper 9 and he was running a 396 big block with dual carbs and a 150 shot. I didnt know who owned the other cars but my uncle had the camaro and still ownes 2 vettes that pick the wheels off the ground. With exeption to the vettes he keeps all his cars under the 15K range. Thats buying the car getting it running and racing it. Im just saying you got your hands full here buddy its hard to compete with displacment. Oh and the 350z was at nopi nationals. Owned by an 18 year old kid. His parents had over 150K invested into the car. Fast as a MOTHER F***ER.

He and I will have mods on these cars, visual and performance wise, and we will see who's is better. He's my sisters "friend" and he saw my celi and he said that he would get an old car and make it far better than my 04 Celi. Well I told him I would compete with him...using an old car too, not my current car. That's going to my lil sis, it's auto anyways. So maybe I should get an older GTS, which year do you guys recommend?

I don't even think crespo_h69 knows what he's talking about. He sure doesn't. Maybe you're best off not participating in this challenge. Obviously you know NOTHING about cars. If you knew somehting, you'd know that a Camaro Z28 in the early to mid 90's will offer you the best bargain for a project car. A giant(can't remember the displacement) V8 for $4k or less.

Yeah all I see are auto's, seen 4 just this past week, lol hate the autos' shifter though cause it looks like my 4Runners' I started thinking that I probly wouln't feel lift after enough power/speed Yeah I'm a noob, been spending most of my time in the anything goes forums, but I'm trying to learn at least not dissing people that don't know much about a certain topic As celicadragon siad I was going to look into police auctions but I was hoping I woulnt have to because if I do get one from there I wouln't be able to sell it for a good price, unless it really looks nice which, by then, I woulnt want to let go of it anyways

You wont have much luck in police auctions. I was going to make a buisness of geting cars in auctions and then sell them but it turns out that its an unfair area of interest. You have to know police who get the cars in personally becasue guys who do,get the good stuff BEFORE anybody else has a chance. In other words, you have to be in the in crowd with the police to get a chance at stuff thats worth it.
