i was wondering if it would be wise to get a turbo timer with a turbo kit? what do they do? i already tried searchin on it n got nothin so spineyes

yes it would be wise. what it does is measure engine temp, revs, and the time your engine was running and how hard you were pushing it. it takes this and calculates a cool down time for your turbo, then keeps your engine running even when you remove the key for the calculated amount of time. this gives the turbo time to cool down, preventing oil "cooking", which is when the oil stays hot but not moving around, and it loses viscosity and hardens, which cause a build-up on the turbine eventually wearing it out.

ohhh ok, thanx man thumbsup my friends got an eclipse gst and he always lets it sit for like 5 mins before he shuts it off i always wondered why haha

if you dont hit boost at all, then only let it cool for a min...

driving hard, let it cool for like 5 mins at least.

The best part is when your going to the mall or something and you get out of your car and start walking away while the turbo timer is letting it cool down and some old guy is like...hey!...HEeyyyyy! you left your car running! rofl

It's a good idea. That way if you're in a rush when you get someplace, you don't have to sit with your car running before you turn it off. spineyes
