Driving towards my home(is like at the top of a mountain) the car just dont respond when I hit the gas all the way. It keep and average of 50 and the rpm doesnt go higher than 3. It does that only when I'm going up. Anyone know, what could it be?

dunno how automatic GT works know gts has manu-matic shifting. but even if you don't you should have low gears like 1 and 2 instead of D.. use 1 and 2 for more power and more revs going up hills our cars don't have a lot of torque so you need to rev to like 4.5k or something to get up a steep hill with any power.

L you wont be able to go over say 40 ish, and use 2nd, but once you red line you will have to shift to drive... umm maybe its not the engine power, but the alititude thats effecting ur performance, or something else? cause i live in denver and drive up the moutains all the time, and i have never felt any difference...

Dumb question...is it better to drive with O/D always on? Most of the time, yes. You shouldn't drive above 60mph for long with it off, just for a short burst, like getting on the hwy or the problem in this thread. I would turn it off when I was driving under 60 and when I need it to downshift for a little extra power. This is not saying much I got rid of my auto for a 5 speed. Keep in mind when you turn your car on your OD is on by defalt even if you turned it off when you shut it down. So there is no way you could forget and leave it off.

Manuals are too much of a pain in the ass down here in Florida traffic...you'd be shifting all the time! Besides I have the convenience of both. If I ever want to manually shift my car all I have to is slide the gear shift to the left and off I go...it's not quite the same as a "real" manual but close enough. Anyways, autos are just easier so kiss my butt j/k

Why would anybody but a girl get an automatic Celi? noob but seriously, not everyone wants a manual, and you can get some power out of the auto before tearing the tranny all to crap. i'm looking into building up my tranny and getting something other than the stage 1 c2 turbo.

^^^ when going up hill and say you are around 40mph, downshift to 2nd gear. (press the shifter button down and move the stick down to the number 2) make sure you watch your rpm gauge, shift back into 3rd (D) gear before you hit 7,000rpms.

I don't like automatic manual shifters. It's too soft none of the stiffness and clicking into place feeling of a manual. Plus it takes like a few seconds for it to shift when you click it up or down so theres like a delay while it's thinking or something. I do think however that anyone can have just about the same 0-60 1/4 mi times in the same auto which is good for some people because some people are actually slower than autos when they don't know how to shift right and fast. I would also miss my clutch in an auto to me that is really the best part of a manual not just being able to select power how and when you need it but being able to adjust it and slam it in from neutral and do burn outs and hard launches. I do admit eating fast food while driving is a bit of a chore in my manual though.
