Heres a tip I've been meaning to post for a while now, if you really want lift to hit you strongly, a BIG push forward not small like normal lift then get your engine cold (like in the morning) and let the temp indicator go up one from the completely cold position
EX. After going up from this position: ______
Sorry, no camera, lol
Now rev up to 6200 RPM's and SHIFT!!!!!! You will be kicked forward much more than normal lift, the kick is much more notisable.

you are contradicting yourself, if you shift at 6200 then you are not hitting lift at all, and if the car is cold it will not even go into lift.
so what are you trying to say?

this is a genious way to damage your motor, and not to mention the lift is in no way different than it is at normal temperature. Anytime your car has not had sufficient time to warm itself up, everything will feel jerky and harder, creating to illusion to someone such as yourself that your car somehow has more power. But I guess even in all your wisdom you managed to forget that if you put a 6' spoiler on your hatch you can fly too

That totally sounds ignorant and like mom n dad bought you your car. Regardless, I suggest you do a lot of internet research about the car your driving, and learn about it enough so that you don't make a fool of yourself by posting stupid posts about it. All this talk about shifting at 6200rpm, when the car won't even engage lift if you only got one tick mark on the temp gauge. It sounds too crazy and just too ridiculous man.

First thing, whatever you smoking, can I get some too?
Second, the rev is limited to like 6500 or something like that when your engine is cold and there is no lift at all. And if you're shifting at 6200rpm, when lift actually engages, you would be shifting and making the rpms go back down so there would be no lift to begin with.

Lesson learned Yeah, apparently, but the thing is that when I asked about heating just about everyone joined in telling me that it was ok to drive it after a minute of heating IF it had been driven before on the same day. crespo, none of that conversation included lift. I think the point was that it was OK to drive a car started from cold after about a minute IF you didn't rev it much (anyway, that was my input on the subject). Revving and hitting lift is altogether much harder on an engine if it hasn't been properly warmed up. The problem is, the engine oil hasn't heated up much, and its not flowing as well as when its warm. Revving puts a lot of stress on the engine, and it needs good oil flow to deal with the added friction from the stress.
Here's what I usually do:
1) Startup, the engine is cold, wait for about a minute to warm up.
2) Go ahead and start driving, but don't rev much, and shift early to keep revs low (not much more than 3K, if possible).
3) After running for about 5-10 minutes, the engine should be warmed up enough to go ahead and rev it, and possibly hit lift.
Now, I live in the Phoenix area, which has pretty warm weather, and I see you're in Long Beach, which in winter is probably pretty similar to Phoenix. My typical "cold" temperature is about 40 deg Fahrenheit. But if you lived in a colder spot, you'd want to warm the engine up more before revving much. I hope that helps.

Ok, correct me if im wrong, but i though the car would go into lift, even though the temp gauge wasnt all the way warmed up...just thought the rev limiter kicks in at earlier rpm...but i cant remember since its been so long since i have drove my 2k. Like if i remember my car hit the limiter at 7200rpm when not warmed up,

^ No, its actually inhibited from entering lift when its cold. Personally, I don't bother with lift unless its 100% warmed up (i.e., the gauge is at the normal "running termperature") location. You could do it earlier, but I just don't see why you wouldn't want to wait until its fully warmed up.

If you want to be safer, take it to around 8k and shift.
