I am on a car lightening quest. After this weekend it will be minus 130 pounds. Soon to go is my air conditioning system. I only use it about 5 times per year so I can live without. My question is:
When I remove the AC compressor there will be one less pulley for the serpentine belt to wrap around and therefore a shorter belt is needed. To anyone who has done this; what size belt did you use to replace the original. Length, manufacturer, part number, etc.
Not sure about the length of the belt but along with a weight reduction not having AC is gonna give you some extra power. We just removed the AC from my buddy's turbo talon and it probably added around 10 HP. Good luck
Spare (we have full size in Canada), jack, rear seats, wing, rear wiper, cargo cover, lightweight battery, steering wheel (replaced with OMP), some mats. Sport seats are in the works too.
Take it out and get a piece of sting wrapped around the pulleys and measure the string. Remember that you may have to reroute the belt to keep everything rotating in the right direction.
