K, i have so much info going both ways so i want the clear answer

I have a 5speed wanting to go to 6speed. I heard from a number of people to do this i need the GTS 6speed shifter cables and the housing. Is this all or anything more do i need? Also, will this cause any problems or slow me down?


Oh and on a side note, I plan on a turbo and so will it really matter if say the 6speed instead of a 5speed will slow me down a few horsepower and tourque? will it do that? thanks in advance for any help, i have class now.

a 6 speed won't slow you down. And I would think that that would be all you need.

Maybe a new clutch too.

I'm assuming you already got the extra gear for the transmission, right?

if you get a 00-01 tranny you need the cables and housing also.. you dont need the housing and cables if you get the wider shift gates from the 02+, and if you have the tranny out for the swap you might as well change the flywheel and clutch makes things easier

haven't got anything yet, don't have the money right now

how do i get the wider shift gates?? How do i get those out of a tranny?
