Celica Forums General Discussion General Could I get a Ticket for this?!?!?!?!

Hey what's up guys...

I just got home...and on my way home my friend was drivin behind me in his jetta. We're at a stop light and when it turns green we both peel off for like half a second or something...but don't even race just let off and go the speed limit. Then a while down the road a car pulls out in front of us...we keep drivin...then farther down the road a cop who turned in front of that car pulls over to the side with their lights on...but i see there is no car in front of him...i'm like shit. So i turn left there down a back road...my friend is behind me...and the cop is chasing after us with his lights on. keep in mind we're not speeding at any point really. my friend pulls over and the cop pulls in behind him...i keep going to the next stop sign and turn right and go home. Is there any way I can get a ticket out of this? I don't know what he pulled my friend over...but can he charge me with something after i'm home etc.? Do you think he could have gotten my license plate? I'm really nervous because if i get another point or two on my license i'm screwed! Thanks guys

sounds like to me you just let your friend take the heat and you got away scott free I wouldnt even trip about it.

lol yeah i was like oh shit...then i'm like hm well no point in givin the cop an easy job by pullin over two of us at once...i could always play it off that i thought it was just him...and there was no point in BOTH of us getting a ticket...

meh...I don't see him that much anyway...*Shrug* lol...i hope it was just a warning or somethin

LoL so i called my friend...and he says the cop pulled him over...came and got his license and registration and went back to his car...then he brought his partner out and his partner walked around my friends car for a while while the other officer was standing at the driver's window...

He said the cop just stood there and looked at him for five mins...and then the other cop whispers in his ear...and then the guy goes...did you know your taillight is out?


What i think is that he just heard us peel out...and tried to pull us over to kick up some loose stones and nail one of us for somethin...cuz he knew there was no way he could prove we peeled out short of testing our tires for a match on the pavement

oh well gave me a bit of a scare...lol

Would you have let one cop pull you and your friend over so you both get a ticket? Or would you have kept on drivin and saved at least one of ya $100+? And he only got a verbal warning anyway...it's not like we did anything awful

lol yeah i guess i lucked out because if the cop would have been lookin around for stuff on my car to give me little piss ass tickets he could find em

and my friend lives like an hour away so he's hardly ever in town...so that cop will never see him again anyway...

well yeah it makes sense economically.

if it were a true friend, I'd just split the one ticket cost. it's better than getting two.

^Yeah that's what i was gonna do. If it was for peeling out I was gonna pay half since i did it too...and there's no way the cop could have known who it was really. But since it was nothing then i don't have to worry about that.

what an asshole cop...like im not against cops but 2 wait 5 min. like that... it happened 2 me a few weeks ago...i would tell the story but fuck typing it

wreckless launch. i think thats wut my friend got on his ticket once. it was just funny cz were like "wtf, they have to write something." plus this officer pulled him over a block away. i dont know wut the fine was though. its really stupid though if you peel out for a sec. just say "im sorry sir, my clutch is losing it"

y the hell did ya peel out in the first place? kinda stupid if you think about it, but i have no right to question you sence im in deap shit with the cops. just dont do stupid shit like that please, dont learn the way i did, it sucks.

then again take it to an attorney and have it reduced to a non-moving violation parking ticket (what I did). then pay half the parking ticket.

meh i don't really know...*shrug* he was behind me revvin it up and i was like...eh he wan't somethin...so i did but i had to stop right away because of some lady pullin in front of me...well w/e it's done with and no harm done

Unless you were starting from nuetral (I mean reving our engines and such) then no, but there is a chance. It has something to do with acceleration (you lear it in physical science in 9th grade, I forget exactly) but if you slam the accelerater down suposedly your going faster than some speed limits. Can anyone clear this up? Like I said it's supposed to do with acceleration and physical Science.

Are you talking about velocity? . Like if the speed limit is 60 and you get there in under five seconds then stop at 60 and continue to drive normaly you velocity is higher then the legal amount until you hit 60 then it goes back to being legal.

well that whole going faster than the speed limit from start is sorta confusing me...

but speed is distance over time...and velocity is acceleration x time interval...meh...this isn't school i'll stop
