When I decelerate or slowly accelerate, @ 4000 and above to 5500 I hear a nasaly/metalic-buzzing sound. It sounds like the valves. Anyone else heard this from their GTS? it's a 2002 and my warrenty goes out in April. I drive about 100 miles a week in excess of 90 Mph for 20-40 Mile legs . 85% of my driving is top end across country style. (it's a I-40 Arkansas thing)

I know this sounds silly/simple, but did you check your oil level?

I check it every time I fill up. A week or so ago I miss shifted from 5th to 4th and cought 2nd. It instantly redlined and i clutched it as soon I cought it. I'm thinking about changing the valves and springs for insurance. Is that worth the trouble? I do a great deal of red-lining through 3rd-5th. I have heard the valves are known for bending. everything is stock on the engine. I don't even have time to put a cold air kit on it. If it's slow enough at work tonight I'm going to bore scope the cylinders through the spark plug holes. to make sure the valves haven't touched the pistons. [

No luck with the bore scope someone broke the lamp on it I checked for a loose heatshield vibrating - no luck I'm just going to run it till something brakes.

check your oil...
sounds to me like it could be rod knock... and in that case your engine will blow sooner or later... mine did.
you really should check it out, because if you have to fix it it'll cost a lot less if you fix it before the rod snaps than after...

depending on where the noise is coming from, youd be surprised to find that the noise could be coming from your tires.
