the remote should be alittle screw. on top that uses the same wire as the remote for the amp.

Yeah, i'm gonna agree with what everyone else says. It's the remote wire. Try disconnecting it for a couple days, you are gonna loose the read out but you don't need it unless you're showing anyhow. See if that fixes the dying problem. If it doesn't, try running the - side of the cap straight to the battery. That's what they recommend anyhow. I just looked a couple posts up...you say there is no remote wire on the cap?? So just 2 wires, one+ and one -. Right????

Well, in essence, a cap is a battery, just one that stores more power and discharges it very quickly. If your amp isn't on, it shouldn't be draining the car's battery to recharge the cap. I'm at a loss on this one. If you have a meter or test light, hook it up to the REMOTE wire and - terminals on the amp with the radio OFF. There should be 0 volts, or no light on the test light. If there is either, the amp is drawing power and killing your battery, keep up posted, well get to the bottom of this! thumbsup

What kinda cap is it...brand and model #. That may help us all do some research for you. Didn't it come with installation directions? Also, wherever you bought it...if they didn't put it in for you, they prob. won't look at it without wanting some dough.

Don't worry about the cap staying on, Mine does the same thing. What it is that whenever you shut off your car, power is still trapped in your cap because it needs to stay there for constant power. The cap being on does not affect your batter because it is not draining any battery power at all. The reason it stays on is because it still has power stored in it, but it should shut off after a couple of hours, but mine stays on for a long time so dont worry! thumbsup

Well, U have it connected to battery +, & grounded. That means that it is always on. Even if the ignition is off.

Here is ur problem...The (-) terminal should be connected to the amp & not the chassis. If you connect it to the chassis you bypass the amp. I dunno. Give it a shot-it might just work. thumbsup

hey best thing to do is the process of elimination thing. first hook up the amp wiht out using the cap. if that doesnt kill ur bat, and everything works fine. after checking ur wires and all that crap. you might just have a bad cap. My first 1 worked for 1 week then gone. replaced it and no more problems. and i have 2 caps now 1 with the voltmeter thing on the other without and doesnt kill my bat.

First off never put a Cap and the amp on the same ground that is a big no...
Second like someone said it is just a battery... so once it charges up (very quickly) it does not draw anymore power, normally most caps turn off if their is no large voltage change in the car, i could sometimes run my subs really low and the cap would not turn on till i started to crank it...

how old is your cap? i have never seen a cap with a remote wire... though they all turn off according to if voltage levels are dropping or not

it creats feedback into the system, attach the ground of the amp into a different place on the chassie from the cap.. i also don't like the idea they will share they same current.. but i was always told to never put it int he same place.. get a new battery it might be it
