Hey everyone, i am reposting htis becasue it was deleted in the last crash smile

Most people are unhappy wiht your current clock color. This with 00-02 clocks can do the filter trick in the installs but it will be very dim during the day and pretty dim at night. Those with 03-05 clocks are stuck with either orange or red becsaue the lens is orange. So here is what i did. I jsut took off the whole lends from the front of the clock. The lense is held in by 4 pegs of plastic that just need to be dremmeld out to get the lens off. Now you wil ahve a light green lcd with a nice looking black surround. So you can now do the filter trick:

white = 1 or 2 purple celephane pieces
Blue = purple filters, then blue filters.

I have 2 purple and 1 dark blue for mine. Now during the day it is still very visible (maybe better then stock) and night is insainly bright. I cut the green wire so it didnt dim at night but you dont need to becsaue with it dim it will still look good.

Someone may have done this before but i hadent seen it so figured i'd go for it. Let me know what you think. And isaac if you need a install writeup let me know smile

Interesting idea...solves the visibility problem during the day, but it just doesn't seem to have that "clean" look if you know what I mean...

Good job though. thumbsup I'm going to look at this myself during spring break.

Hey buddy, well for the AC i took out the little bulbs back there (well kinda broke them out wink ) and i put a 4" cold cathode, also people use 6" neon. i am cheap so went with cold cathode smile As for my cig lighter, i swaped out the bulb behidn it with a blue led bulb. got it off ebay. only thing is i forgot what size it was. i will try to find it agian. then i got a cig lighter cap (intead of actual lighter part) from pepboys. came in a pack of 4 (2 black, 1 purple, and one blue) so it makes it light up better with that too.

here is the install for the neon tube in ac lights.:

https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/thread.f_1869870766_0_collapsed_2__1.html

Here is the site i got my cold cathode from (install same way as neon)

http://www.svc.com/4ccflkit-blu-22.html

And here is =wher ei got cig lighter bulb from:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7961666948&category=33713

i am prettyure thats the size. thats the same seller i got mine from.

Adive for putting in the led bulb for cig lighter, when you swap out the bulbs, dont put this all the way into the cig lighter housing, or else it doent light up all the way. prettymuch put it in till you have to twist it to lock it in and jsut dont do that wink its becasue the led doesnt shine all aroeund liek a bulb and is longer.

yeah hombre i took the lens off too. i tried changing the color to white with the smoked cover and it sucked i couldn't even see the clock during the day. its so much brighter after you take the lens cover off. cutting the wire makes the clock super bright at night also. i'll see if i can't post a pic later.

i love the look of the clock with out the cover, it looks more "techno" but i do feel like there is a little gap that still needs to be addressed. you know?

go to www.rjautoworks.com [rjautoworks.com] and email rj saying you want the gauge led kit in blue. will be about $35 but if you have stock gauges this wont work, the new blue leds wont shine correctly throught eh orange on ur current gauge. so either you need ot get new gauge fomr him (think its liek 50) or get liek reverseglow off like ebay or something. Then you have to take apart your current gauges, unsodder the orange leds off yoru board and sodder the new blue leds on. Would suggest having someone who knows how to sodder to do this smile any mroe questions feel free to pm me smile

ps: form that says better clock mod writeup is much more complete and trying to get people to post on there thumbsup
