2zz. Others will cost about 15 grand. You can find a lot of info by searching.

wow you have a lot of questions. most of which can be answered with a search.

you can swap in the 2ZZ-GE out of a GTS. for the price you could just go turbo though. and you'll have more power.

Why do a engine swap. Want more Power??? I know a much cheaper solution and less time consuming.

The best I4 that "could" be put in is a 3SGTE...BUT that will require a lot of work and money to get working (starts drooling over having a 3rd gen 3SGTE in his 7th Gen Celica). I have not heard of any 6s that would fit...but money can fix that if you got enough of it. HELL, Put up ALOT MORE money and im sure you could fit a V12 in your trunk! rofl

one thing i'm wondering is besides the new ecu, wiring harness, and tranny(good idea for lift)what else is needed for a gts swap? I know the intake manifold, throttle body, headers, etc will be different but what about any small parts i may be missing?

Just buy a turbo or trade in your car before you fuck up your celica.

for the 2zz swap..youd need the whole engine, transmission, passenger side motor mount, ECU, wiring harness, and knock sensor. the intake manifold, throttle body, etc. should come with the complete engine, unless you're only buying a longblock which wouldn't make sense.

the debate between N/A and turbo will always exist, however if you want reliability either trade in your car for a GTS or swap the 2zz in. there is one N/A GTS running 13.7's, and numerous others breaking into the 13's as well..which is faster than any stage 1 turbo'd GT with stock internals that i've ever seen without the transmission blowing. dont get me wrong though, turbo is nice, but in the long run it turns out to be much more expensive to safely boost --> build up the engine, buy the c2 gearset, etc etc..

I've been kickin' around the idea of a 2.4 ltr Scion Tc motor, w/optional supercharger! Love to cruz a Celi w/2.4 on the side, and SC under the hood!
I've looked pretty closely at it, you would need heaps of mony to gitterdun,
but could work! thumbsup

i don't know if anybody has seen the post about toyota's powerful engines, but there are a ton of engines. after seeing that post it got me thinking about an engine swap. there were so many different toyota engines that exist. check it out if you haven't seen it. you'll probably be amazed. i know i was.
