I don't really want to get a SRI or CAI because I worried it will screw with the computer too much, and I'm going to try rigging up my own ram air with the stock intake box (I'd maybe get a TPR if I knew it would show up)... but currently my air filter is full of bee's from last summer, hence it needs replacing. Is the K&N with the bucks? Your thoughts please - thanks

for 40 bucks and it's reusable totally worth it if your not going to get an intake. even if it doesn't give you any performance in HP it'd be worth it because I think they filter better and you never have to buy a new filter, but you do need to buy those recharger kits that cost as much as a regular paper filter. they're supposed to give you 1-3whp.. and an intake is only supposed to give you maybe 3-5whp so it's really not that much of a difference. the best thing about an intake is the sound and looks. you can always do that blue bomber mod to a regular CAI. if you want to save money get an EBAY intake and do the blue bomber mod on it. it'll cost ya about the same as a K&N filter, just a lot more work.

i have a k and n until my turbo comes and it does a good job and they dyno at 2 wp so its not bad for the price but you could get an ebay cai for about the same price and have better performance
respect the gt-s

I have the TRD filter which is the same as the K&N (made by K&N) and I agree that it is worth the cash. 1 $45 filter vs countless $15 paper filters you would buy over the life of the car. Its well worth it for the few extra hp and the money you will save in the long run.

tell me more about this ram-air project of yours well, the tentitve plan is to take off my bumper, and see if I can rig up a hose to go from my foglight hole to my intake - I'm going to try to make it so that I can plug it if I want, so if I'm driving on dirt roads, or in the winter... I'll do the "blue bomber" mod as well and see what happens - if it works, I'll totally post some pics and such
